Chiefland Hardware and Farm Supply — Local services in Chiefland

Some might say that my review of Chiefland Farm Supply is a biased one because I am currently an employee there but I will explain briefly why I am writing this review. I moved to this small country town 3 years ago from Naples Florida, a much larger city, and I knew no-one here. Bought a house that needed some work and since Gainesville was a 40 minute ride I went to the local hardware/ lumber store. In a town where everyone knows everyone I was a stranger but I was treated like a regular and made to feel very welcome, appreciated and comfortable by the staff that assisted me. I made several trips there for lumber, plumbing and electrical needs and each time I got the same friendly and helpful service. When it was time to get out and find a job, the first place I went was to Chiefland Farm Supply Ace Hardware and filled out an application. I am thankful that after a few interviews I was offered a position and I have been there ever since. Not only is the store a wonderful place to shop but it is also a great place to work. Whether I work there or not I would recommend that if you live in this area and you need paint, hardware, lumber or feed for your backyard animals that you at least stop in and check out your local store before driving all the away to Gainesville. In a recent trip to my local Ace hardware store, I had a wonderful experience!

I was particularly impressed by the staff. They were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help me find what I was looking for. I had a few questions about certain paint products, and they took the time to explain the differences without making me feel rushed. It made a big difference in my shopping experience. I was even given a GENEROUS sized paint sample to try on my upcoming sidewalk/driveway project.

The prices seemed reasonable, and I appreciated that they had a good variety of both brands and options. I found everything I needed and even picked up a few extra things I hadn't planned on, just because the selection was so good. (The bottled Root Beer was delicious! 😋)

This is so upsetting I've been shopping at this place for so long, unfortunately I can never enter their doors ever again. I believe it is every right that a business can post signage stating no weapons allowed but it's also my right to support businesses or not support businesses that do this foolishness. For years and years and years not only myself but many others 90 plus percent have walked in your store carrying weapons that you never even knew were there, now that we have the Second Amendment right to choose how we carry you opt in for this foolishness. Oh well...
