Found a Washburn WI 66PROQ on Reverb and it was in China Grove at Colemans Music/2.10 hours away. I then looked at their "Store" and saw this Mint looking Gibson Les Paul Supreme. Went back and forth in my mind about this and several Blueberry Burst, Manhattan Midnight color Standards on Reverb. My son and I went to Spencer to the NC Transportation Museum and Coleman's is on the way, ON PURPOSE. The Supreme and the Washburn were there and Chip and the rest were all friendly and we struck the deal he quoted. I dropped the Washburn, Still may get it, (Update: Washburn Sold before my decision to buy) and walked out with my second Gibson electric of this 40+ year guitarist collection. Gibson is a name with questionable quality for years. But, this model looks and feels like it just came out of the Gibson Custom Shop, this morning!
They have been there 35 years and I taught school not 10 miles away in 1984-91. Never heard of them till two weeks ago. Glad I do in-depth research on Reverb Stores. Just look at 2003, first year run, "Supreme" I bought. Flame Maple 5 AAAAA. Front AND back, even has gold plated frets that are still in excellent condition. The jury has always been out on the limitations of the Supreme, but Gibson does some crazy stuff, depends who owns them at the time. Glad they made this specific model and I'll take crazy all day, every day and twice on Sunday's! Thanks guys, I am getting ready to peal the paint in the house in about 1 hour. GO SEE THE GUYS, FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGABLE, GOOD STOCK AND MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS OR YOU WILL...
Read moreI first went to Coleman Music 18 years ago, when I started playing guitar in high school. I've spent thousands of dollars there over the years, even before I was aware of how important it is to support locally owned and operated businesses. Scott is a great guy and is the only person I will have set up my guitars when they need it. Chip, the owner, is a very easy going, laid back guy, who knows his stuff. I've always gotten amazing deals there, compared to any of the chain music stores or even online retailers. I will always check with them first when I need something music related. Chances are if they don't have it in the store, they can order it for you. They've been in business for a very long time, and in such a small town like China Grove, that's an accomplishment in and of itself. I say check them out if you need anything, especially if you're looking for vintage...

Called looking to get a pro set up on a recently purchased acoustic that has some slight buzzing going on. Purchased it at guitar center a little over a month ago, and don’t want to have to deal with GC being it is a significant drive for me.
Additionally I have another guitar that needs some work, and as such I’m searching for a reliable luthier I can work with that knows what they are doing. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was quite rude when I asked about timing and price, for a settup and bluntly said to take it back to guitar center.
maybe he was upset I bought the guitar from a big box store, but either way, I won’t be doing business with...
