I've spent a full year in this community and I would recommend living here. It does have its pros and cons like any community would. From maintenance, cleaning staff, trash valet, leasing consultants & managers have been so kind and lovely. I hope my review can help future residents :)
Apt space: I lived in a one bedroom, size was just right. Not too big nor too small. The kitchen has a lot of storage & counter space which was nice. The island was very spacious and fit 3 barstools. The closet was spacious as well and the bedroom & bathroom could be a little bigger but it was manageable. Also a built-in Ring Camera was a plus!!
Safety: I ALWAYS saw security at night. There would be times I'd get home around pretty late and would see the security guard. They always rounded the entire community space which is nice. I never had any issues with feeling unsafe in/around my community.
Parking: I have 2 cars, one assigned space. I only ever had MAYBE 2 nights where I had to park on the street. Parking wasn't an issue for me. There are first come first serve spots that were always available. Sometimes it could be a walk, but I personally did not mind. I have seen the towing company make their rounds at night & have seen people get towed.
Pool: I personally never used the pool. It tends to get a little over crowded during summer.
Gym: The gym is very spacious and has the basic equipment you'll need. Many people did not have gym etiquette. Going to the gym daily, I always saw weights on the floor, people did not wipe the equipment after using it. Treadmills would be left on an incline. The floor mats would not be put away either. Some machines would break but the staff is pretty quick on fixing them ~2 weeks to fix.
Dog Park: It's a nice dog park although MANY owners do not pick up after their pets. It's disappointing that they'd leave the staff to clean up their mess. There was always poop everywhere in the dog park.
Soccer Field: It was cute. It was frequently closed and have seen kids jump the high fence to play inside.
Concerns: SKUNKS. Year round there was always skunks. My dog got sprayed by a skunk at the dog park. They spray around the entire community and it stunk so bad anytime i'd open my windows. ROACHES. During the summer there were soooo many roaches around the entire community. As I would walk my dog, I would see many roaches. I lived close to the leasing office parking & many people would drive in blasting music at 5am and as late as 11pm. You could hear the freeway slightly. Many people get pulled over for speeding on the long road by the temple. Living on a second floor, you could hear your upstairs neighbor walk around, their pets run at night too. Price... our lease would've jumped +$260 which is insane for how small the apartment is. That is NOT including all the fees they charge on...
Read moreBuilding is fancy but inside is not. Management team is the 1st issue here. This is the worst mgmt team. When they tour you, they looks friendly... After I move in, the manager is in her office forever with computer, most of time front desk does want help you. I have a feeling that the only people willing to help us (or just me) is Dinicia. If she is not on duty then no one help us! Parking is the 2nd nightmare, 90% - 95% spots are reserved parking, but if you are with a 2b/3b you still only get 1 reserved spot. Every night you have to waste miles to search for parking spots, usually I had no choice but to street park and walk back home. Yes I have a choice, I can purchase reserved spots for $65 per month!!! Count it to your rent before you estimate the cost!!! Parcel service has account fee and monthly fee!!! I have to pay money to receive packages and I need drive to pick up from locker by myself. Also note if you have a package more than 3 days in locker, you will be charged extra $3-5 per package!!! The community is next to industry land and it could be very STINK... especially during night. Pool and fitness room can be used by any random people, gate is like nothing. BTW this community is next to a mobile home yard. The road looks not busy but always has trucks pass by. Yeah! I can wake up at 5 - 6 AM daily in the past 6 months.
If you add parking fee, pest control cost, parcel locker fee and valet trash fee, you can get a decent apartment like Avalon or Caparina at Chino HIlls too. So make a smart choice. My roommate and I, we are looking for new apartments now. Cannot wait to move out here.
It seems they are offering 6 weeks free, but please consider the parking, stink smell and extra hidden fee before you really sign the lease! The manager is sitting there post rules and rules. The damn valet trash service is a joke. $25 per month + you have to pay your trash fee. Valet does not work on weekend! And Mon-Thursday we are not at home and create almost no trash. Then weekend no one come to pick up trash so we did not really get service for this $25. Plus valet won't pick up any package carton...
Read moreI just moved out of The crossing, and boy was it a relief. I have lived at other Bridgeport properties, but Crossings in Chino Hills is by far the worst Management I have experienced.
I downsized from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom, so I had an extra bed set and other furniture. I was told I couldn’t have these things in my garage, and got accused of someone living in my garage! (The only way I found this out was when I got home one day I noticed a foot print in my garage, I went to notify the office that someone was in my residents and the manager walked out and said she was, and walked back into her office.) I received a note on my door they would be doing an inspection, on a specific date between specific times, I called the office to confirm, so I can take the day off work to be there for the inspection. They did the inspection a day before and I was not present. They said they can do so if they feel in breaking their rules. Only 5 separate occasions, someone entered my residents again. Management claimed that they had been showing apartments and it was a a mistake, mind you I have already lived in my apartments for over 6 months.
I was a day late on my rent check, which is a $100 fee, it was paid, however within 3 days I received a note on my door to vacate my apartment due to no rent being paid. It appears the office doesn’t communicate and my check was lost. I was asked by the complex to provide the bank I go to, when and what time I got the check from the bank, which I researched on my own, I emailed corporate, and my check appeared in a drawer, during that day I had called to talk to savanna Russo the manager and was told she doesn’t talk to residents.
There are so many things wrong with this property, and it’s very unfortunate they they treat and State Employee like this.
Besides poor management property is nice and clean...
