Often times as customers, when a product or service misses the mark, we are quick to complain and to post our bad experience. However, when a business is amazing and does a great job, too often, no one hears about it; well not today.
Orangetheory in Chino Hills is quickly becoming my new obsession; I love it there. The best way for me to describe this place is to compare it to one of my favorite TV shows from the 80ās-90ās called āCheersā. Each time George Wendtās character, the iconic āNorm Petersonā would walk into Cheers, the entire room would yell āNORMā because everyone knew who he was. The theme song for this beloved show āSometimes you want to go where everybody knows your nameā embodies the culture at Orangetheory - why, because the staff and trainers āknow everyoneās nameā.
Much like Norm, when I walk into Orangetheory iām enthusiastically welcomed by name by Sam & Shayna at the front desk.
The trainers & staff at Orangetheory really care about their members and today was a special reminder of this. I was a little off this morning, and I didnāt hit my fitness goals for the workout. I was frustrated and disappointed in myself. After the workout, my trainer, Rachael, pulled me aside to highlight my wins and helped me understand what I can do better next time; this meant a lot to me.
As I was getting ready to head out, both Rachael & Crystal continued to encourage me, and gave me great advice for my next workout. I love the sense of community I feel at Orangetheory and how much the trainers care about their members.

Ā Ā Ā Read morerecently joined Orange Theory in Chino Hills and was excited to start my fitness journey. Unfortunately, today left me feeling incredibly disappointed. Due to bad traffic, I arrived late for my class, which started at 8:45 AM. I was in the parking lot changing my shoes and saw another person walk in, so I thought I still had time. I walked in at 8:50 and approached the front desk by 8:51, only to be told that no one is allowed in more than five minutes after the class starts.
While I completely understand this policy and its importance, especially if there were a waitlist or limited spots, there was no waitlist for this class. What added to my disappointment was the lack of helpfulness from the front desk staff. Instead of working with me to find a solution, I was merely offered the next class at 10 AMāa time that simply didnāt work with my schedule.
As a new member, this experience felt discouraging and unwelcoming. I hope Orange Theory in Chino Hills can reflect on how to better support new members and consider the circumstances when enforcing policies like these. A little flexibility and empathy go a long way in creating a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrange Theory is awesome. I'll get this out of the way, I hate working out! But with OTF, there is a built in level of motivation: 1- you're paying for each session 2- there are always metrics that you can challenge yourself to beat.
The model might sound wonky at first, and maybe it is in some ways, but it is enough to keep yourself challenged to do better all the time.
The coaches are very cool, and they pay attention to you personally, even in a class of 30 people.
The Staff (In Chino Hills at least), is super friendly, and helpful, they know you by name! ... that's a lotta names! :)
Keep up the...
