Soaring Eagle is a place where the highs are soaring, but the lows are deep, deep valleys. The place is gorgeous, we'll just get that out of the way off the top. The hotel offers excellent value for the price. Smooth check-in and pleasant concierge. This is the only hotel that I have ever been to that would not let me use a luggage cart to get my items to my room. Instead, you had to have a belle person assist you the only problem was that they were backlogged about 30 minutes. The belle person was kind of rude about it too saying that I didn't look like I needed assistance (probably due to my young appearance he thought I was a young age.) The room itself was awesome! Wonderful design, and great view (7th floor.) Very clean and enough space to not feel cramped. Comfy beds with a large TV. Quant little coffee and minifridge area. The bathroom was awesome with a lovely stand-in shower with beautiful hardware, but the water pressure could have been better. The shower drain was a bit noisy and took a long time to drain. The heat lamp is an awesome touch. The room felt very modern with the smart lighting system, and motorized curtains. The pool was crowded, dirty and unpleasant. The casino floor is large but mostly slots. Not a lot of table games offered and the ones that are offered are high prices per bet. There did not seem to be a lot of winning going on. However, payouts seemed to be more often and better during the busy times of day. I guess if you are going to play at night you are going to pay a premium for it. Out of the entire place there was only one row of 2 penny slot machines. Not a place to go if you are looking to make you money last a while. Many of the machines show signs of wear and even vandalism (LOL.) I saw slots where the rolls were taped together, there were machines that flat out robbed me taking my money and not doing anything at all, or betting max when I specifically set it to a different amount, and I even had a video blackjack table freeze on me midgame and I had to call an attendant over to fix it. Pro-tip: the rewards cards will NOT work if you put them in all the way, instead push them in about 3/4 of the way but make sure the light is still blue around the card, if it's red you have gone too far. The floor has a good layout as access to a bathroom, bar, or cashier is never far away. I also truly enjoyed the free coffee and pop bar in the middle of the floor although it could have been kept cleaner. The arcade is a letdown. Very high prices per game, short game play times, machines that just robbed you and did nothing at all, and high ticket prices for prizes. Personally, I found it easier to make my money last longer in the casino than in the arcade! The native grind is a much-appreciated cafe. They make great cappuccinos, and the baked goods look amazing although I did not try them. Reasonably priced as well. The staff seem like they could use more training. Jonny Rockets was a TERRIBLE experience. We were treated like dogs by the blonde-haired host with glasses and decided to go elsewhere. Thankfully, we found Ascend, the sports bar at the end of the casino, and had a great experience! This place is a true gem! The food is EXCELLENT, very high-quality delicious eats. Our server was pleasant, and it was reasonably priced. We went here twice and left happy both times. if I lived in the area I would go to SE just to go to Ascend. The deli and slice, while I didn't try it did look amazing and they're open 24 hours which is very convenient. There is something seriously wrong with the people that work here. I don't know if it's the classic case of being overworked and underpaid or what's going on but these people ARE NOT happy. I encountered too many unpleasant and outright rude staff during my visit that it is not simply just a coincidence. Overall, I would go back but I am also not dying to go back again and I guess that...
Read moreI went to Soaring Eagle when I was younger. I haven't been back for a very long time. There is plenty of parking spaces and the entrance is pretty grand. My mother wanted to play the 1¢ slots or the .25 cent slot machines. I learned my lesson when I was young not to gamble. I had a horrible experience where I went through all my earnings working 60-70 hours. I told myself I wouldn't ever gamble that type of money again. Very seldomly will I gamble. If I do I usually like the scratch off Michigan Lottery Tickets. When I go to a casino I will usually have a social alcohol beverage. Listen to music and snack on a late night appetizer. I came to Soaring Eagle tonight- July 5th for the 4th of July firework's.
There is a message I personally would like to say to the Indian Tribal Groups throughout Michigan. I am really sorry that the United States of America killed so many innocent lives. Just so the Country could claim land. I found throughout Michigan the horror stories. The untold stories that we don't ever hear about. Where the President gave orders to execute people. Not just with the Indians but also with religious groups.
My family and I have history through two different tribal groups. My great grandmother was 100% Indian. Therefore, your history becomes my history of the past.
I understand the anger that the tribes must feel. Their freedoms and liberaties being taken away every day that passes in the 20th Century.
I don't blame the Indians for taking away Americans hard earned earnings from working or from retirement. However, these individuals also make the choice to gamble these earnings.
I just wish as an American citizen that we can bridge the gap of inequalities. How can we as a nation provide tribes with land and food. How can we input Indian culture in modern society? How can we create Peace? The law and decree was 50 sheckles not to exceed 75 sheckles per night for land usage. That the Indians will allow homeless people or citizens land access with permission. I hereby grant this order and decree throughout all tribal lands in America.
It's 10:41 PM now. That was the best and grandest firework show I have ever seen. Truly wonderful. Thank you for giving that to the community. Hugs 🤗 🤗 Sincerely,
Miss Keller

Read moreLocation is fine. Rooms were fine last time we stayed here as well as the Waterpark hotel. The problem is the service! Stopped here because it came up as Tesla charger and we figured we would run in and gamble for an hour while it charged. Told valet (because you can only access chargers via valet) that we only planned on being there a short while as we still had a 6 hour drive. Went in to gamble and did fine. Went to grab a piece of pizza from Slice (as in the PIZZA place) to get 2 pieces of pizza on the way out. They didn't have any. No one could tell is when they were getting any really. Well one person said they were supposed to get them (apparently from across the casino) at 8 (this was at 820) but that they had just called down to see what was up and there was no answer. Then another guy called . No answer. No one could tell us anything about pizza at a pizza place. We werent allowed to pay for pizza so we could get 2 slices when they came. The employees seemed conpletely unmotivated to even try at life. We walked out to the casino floor and saw one of the guys from slice walking back with 2 pizzas . I asked if they were for the spinner (apparently that's what they call by the slice area) and was told yes. We walkwd back to get pizzas and no one knew where the guy had put them supposedly. The guy had already started walking back to where they make them (albeit at a snails pace). Mystery never solved. Still couldn't tell us when pizzas would be there. Thirty minutes later and a guy is walking over with 4 pizzas. I ask if they're for spinner and he says yes. He was wrong. Still no pizza. Just so hard to get pizza. I try to find supervisor to no avail. Give up and go to valet. Get car. Hasn't been charged (or so I think). Waiting for supervisor there. Go to get pizza. Pizza finally arrives. Go back out and learn this is a tesla DESTINATION charger, not a supercharger (so if I wanted to wait 16 hours I could. ). What a shitshow all around. Clearly they make enough money to hire more help and better help (pizzas were consistently blamed on "one old lady making the pizzas...
