VERY RUDE AND NASTY TO MY MOTHER!!!
My parents and I stopped from out of town to browse the store. Good size place. We’ve been a couple of times before. Everything seemed fine those times. But today will mark the last trip to Cherry’s. My mother collects Boyd’s Bears and was going to purchase 15-20 at once. We asked about a discount because of the quantity. The man behind the counter said no deals unless the Individual items were more than $25. I asked if they could contact the owner of the booth. We were met with a “No, it’s against store policy”. So we discussed wether it would be worth it at the prices set on the Bears. My mom said “ I’ve never been in a flea market/antique store that you couldn’t negotiate a little. The man behind the counter started getting extremely rude at this point. I had a couple of things I was going to buy so I said “mom it’s up to you if you want to buy them, but I’m not buying anything from this place. At that point my mom simply said “I’ve been here a couple of times”. The gentleman quips back in the most hateful way “we’ll I’ve been here 30 years”. This is when I’d had enough. I said there’s no need to talk to her like that and what exactly is your point? Why do you feel the need to harass a 68 year old lady who is always sweet to everyone. He couldn’t explain himself with his uh uh uh. At that point he looks at my mom and says “there’s the door, you can leave now”. It was all I could do not to confront him directly but he ran off into the store leaving who I assume was his mother to deal with any further communication. We left without spending $200+ in whoever’s booth. Sorry booth owner. Thank God dad was in the car! I hope that guy is happy he was rude and talked down to a senior citizen. I’m sure you’re mother is proud. Just 1 families experience. But it was...
Read moreWe pulled a small trailer in and parked away from other cars so we didn’t block another customer in and the store was only open for another hour so presumed we would also not get blocked as the truck hood faced the street. The store has a difficult layout and majority of the booths are so crowded, they are difficult to navigate. We purchased and walked out to discover someone had pulled a truck and stock trailer within a foot of our truck bumper. Turns out it was the store owner! He was hateful when he came out and stated “if you can’t back a trailer, you shouldn’t pull one”. That’s not really the point, and at the angle our truck and trailer were parked, it would have been difficult since we couldn’t pull forward at all. The conversation was heated, and as antique mall owner myself, I was shocked at his attitude and I wouldn’t have parked the way he did just to “make a point” as he obviously intended. He stated as the owner, he could park anywhere he wanted. We will not return and he stated he was fine with that. If you decide to shop here, just know if you are a reseller, there are antiques, but priced at full retail and the store ranges from garage sale to antiques, but not well displayed so not inspiring to shop. We drove 1/10 mile to the next one and were...
Read moreThey were not friendly nor helpful. Good prices. Drove hours to get there just to have them turn off the lights on us 5 minutes before closing so that they could walk out at the 6pm closing time. The other venders should be made aware of that their sales were loss because of this. We bought the same things down the road. They have nice displays and reasonable prices. I guess I just wasn't buying from the venders that were working that evening. LOL. (There were 3 parties that felt put out). Like the other group that night, we won't be...
