My wife and I got married earlier in the year at the Catholic Church right next to the Carnegie Center. We reached out to the Carnegie Center to reserve their space to take pictures with our wedding party after the ceremony since it was still cold outside. Even though it was very difficult to get ahold of someone at their offices, they emailed us back a couple weeks before the date and said we can use the space for our pictures. We were obviously excited and relying on using that space as we had a big wedding party and it was snowing outside so we wanted to be inside.
But when the day came we went across the street for pictures and no one was there and the doors were locked.
I attempted many times to reach out and get ahold of someone at the Center and even the Church administrator tried to get ahold of someone from Carnegie, but to no avail.
Our whole wedding party ended up taking our wedding pictures outside in 30 degree weather with light snow coming down as we were relying on using their indoor space.
It is extremely frustrating. If the Carnegie Center did not want us to use their space I would certainly understand and respect their wishes. But we were relying on them to keep their word and we were left in a really hard situation scrambling last minute on our wedding day.
I waited to post this review because I wanted to give a chance to the Carnegie Center to respond to my follow up emails hoping to get an explanation, but never heard back. Obviously if there was a mistake or something happened I would understand. But we certainly felt left out to dry on a pretty big day in our lives, hence the one...
Read moreOur daughter's wedding reception was at the Carnegie Center of Tusculum on September 13th. We could not have been more pleased with the event. The Carnegie Center and Jeff Thomas Catering did a fantastic job. If felt like we were hosting an intimate party for 225 of our closest friends. The attention to detail by the Carnegie and Jeff Thomas Catering was second to none. You will be tempted to put some food in your pocket to take home.
The lighting at the Carnegie in the evening was unbelievable. We were awestruck. It was a soft, warm and enchanting reception.
We also were fortunate to have the Wedding Mass next door at St. Stephen (where we have since joined). It is a beautiful church and the coordinators were great. The timing of the day was made so much simpler by everything being adjacent.
This was our 4th (and last) wedding. While all of them were special, I don't see how anything can top the experience at Carnegie and Jeff Thomas Catering.
Thank you,...
Read moreThe Carnegie Center is a historical venue that hosts more than just weddings. But I had my wedding there on August 30th, 2014 and it was beautiful. I think it is a smaller venue, but our guest list had 125 people and it was perfect for that size. The building is broken up into 3 segments, a large room, the middle, and a smaller room where the bar is. The smaller room is great for any other activities you want to have (we had a photo booth). We received compliments all night long about how they thought the venue looked fantastic and beautiful. The only negative was that you do have to be out by 11pm due to noise in the...
