We pretty much had a good experience in all different locations of Costco that we have been to. Today, we went to Citrus Heights. Not our first time. We actually frequent this location. Self check out is not busy at all, we are the only one waiting for next available counter. Usually, we will be greeted by Costco staff and offered their help to scan the heavy items which we do have. There is a staff by the name of Stephanie who happened to be alone because, probably, not busy yet since it is still early. I saw her go away from the counter and talk to another lady who is facing us (she can still see us and any incoming customers). I waited for her to offer her help to scan our heavy items but she didn’t. She remained standing next to her colleague. No worries. I’m sure she will (based on our personal experience with other staff) but.. it didn’t happen. I waited for an eye contact but didn’t happen either because she is talking to her colleague. Good thing the lady in front of us waived at her and called for help and she attended. I waited for her to finished helping the lady who doesn’t want an item. When I saw her leaving, I called her but she “didn’t hear”. The same customer in front of us called her attention as well and said “they need help”. No response. I have to call her again because my husband was done scanning. I can tell that she gets irritated. Why? And I still need to ask her if she can help us scan our heavy items because she is just looking at us. She came and the first thing she told us, instead of scanning , is to tell me that I can press the “yellow thing” in the screen if we need help instead of “yelling”. I apologized and told her that we didn’t know that. I’m sure the same customer who called out for help doesn’t know either :) Personally, I don’t think I yell because she was just opposite us and I honestly didn’t know that we can call for help by pressing a button in the counter screen because we never need to ask for help in the past when we were in any Costco. The Costco staff are pretty much proactive in offering their help. The same customer who called out loudly, earlier on, was just opposite where we stand while she was at the further end talking to another staff and she never said anything to her but she sounds like reprimanding to us when we call her? The best part is she said that she “can only do” the rice and water. We never say what she needs to scan actually. Usually, the Costco staff will tell us what they already scanned. There are 2 downy next to the rice. We have yet to scan because the counter was already full of our other groceries mainly food items.
To end, I find that the lady is quite “different”. What is so difficult in scanning 2 more items that was placed at the lowest part of the trolley? If I can just lift up the rice and bottles of water to scan, I probably don’t need her help. If she is just attentive enough to the customers with heavy items, I will come out of Costco today with a smile on my face because i finally can try the Baklava that I just bought. We are a happy customer of Costco ever since we became a member but definitely not today. We still love Costco but not Miss Stephanie who probably woke up at the wrong side of the bed today or just simply not fit...
Read moreIt is a membership warehouse shopping experience. I love when there are manufacturer discounts on products I need. It has been annoying to have to clip coupons for a discount at other retail stores. Why can't everyone who purchases the item receive the discount? That's exactly as it is at Costco. Today my mobility wasn't great. The potting soil was loaded onto my cart by the employee in the garden area. After check out I had to wait a few minutes after exiting for a "loader". He pushed my cart to the disabled parking (I was 4th down the row) and loaded the potting soil, dog biscuits, plants, and various items into my truck. He was a marvelous individual. I am very glad he came to work today (& I told him the same thing). I spent a fair amount of money, and received a reasonable amount of merchandise. If you need the merchandise they sell, I recommend being a member and shopping there. Update: very busy today (June), went through self-check out. Able to use scanning gun yourself, so no heavy lifting at checkout, didn't need Costco employee for large items either. Had an issue at self checkout and it was resolved quickly. Not much waiting in line to check out or go out the exit. The only downside is how far I have to park away from the store. But I did find a place for my very large pickup. My friend found a place in the shade to help keep the contents of her truck cool. Today was a hot one - over 100. It was busy when I got there and busy when we left about 90...
Read moreI usually never write reviews but their employees are not at all properly trained on customer service. No Costco I’ve ever gone to was this bad. I noticed that this Costco has also had a lot of negative interactions lately, I just hope whoever is the hiring manager does a better job and let’s go of these rude workers. I got a chicken bake from the food court and it was spilt open so I went over there to ask for a new one “excuse me my chicken bake is spilt open” and the white blonde haired girl working there with false lashes on snatched the chicken bake with an incredibly rude almost angry that I said something look on her face and threw it at the trash can. threw it. aggressively grabbed a new one and gave it to me. I was upset as one would be and I was telling my family member what happened and another white lady much older than I am who works as the receipt checker named Joni says not even a second after I step away from her vicinity. “Man that girls got a mouth” incredibly rude and no understanding of how to treat customers. I’ve worked a customer servicing job before and never have I ever let my bad day be visible or affect my interactions with...
