I was there to research and potentially buy a lift chair for my mother and Al was the gentleman that was helping me and he did such a wonderful job. I was at that store for three hours and he helped me the entire time researching and getting answers to all my questions, printing out information, Contacting third-party members with questions about battery packs. He was so upfront, so honest, so helpful & such a lovely gentleman, and if he didn’t know an answer to a question, he was honest and said he didn’t know but let me research that for you. This is not the first time he has helped me in the store and each and every time he has been such a wonderful employee so kind and so helpful I ended up buying a chair and plan to go back when I have to buy a mattress and I’m going to specifically ask and look for Al to help me. He even called Kyle, who was in charge of deliveries when the delivery day that I needed, which was the soonest delivery day to get the chair to my mother had just closed out. He called and spoke to Kyle, and they were both so wonderful and managed to squeeze the chair in so my mother could have the chair that she medically needs sooner rather than later. I would go back to Huck Finn if for no other reason, then because Al did such a wonderful job, taking care of me, a customer who had so many questions and very specific needs, and for my mother who needed something medically assistive to her sooner rather than later, I can’t say enough positive things about specifically, but the fact that he works at Huckfinn I would totally go back for that positive treatment. Not a great experience. We were emailed a coupon that in the fine print had no exclusions on it. After driving an hour to get there we were told we could not use it because it only applies during certain times and/or could only be used on baby items. Again, nowhere on the coupon itself did it say that. What upset us the most was how the situation was handled. The first girl was very rude and really couldn’t care less what we had to say. When the assistant manager came over he again said there was nothing he could do and didn’t seem to take our concern seriously. When the salesperson was talking to the manager we were not too far away and could hear what she was saying. Let’s just say the way she talked about us was not what you would hope to expect to hear and did not meet the most basic levels of customer service you would hope. I don’t usually write negative reviews because I feel like taking your business elsewhere has more impact than a negative review will have (which we did and found what we were looking for at Taft on central ave), but It was the lack of respect and complete dismissal of our concerns that left us with a sour taste in our mouth. It wasn’t even that we couldn’t use the coupon (although being in sales myself I would have at least met us halfway as a compromise). After driving over an hour to Pottery Barn to look at furniture we had selected online, only to experience the worst customer service you can imagine, we Googled other furniture stores in the area and decided to check out Huck Finn Home based on their good reviews before dejectedly heading home.

We are SO glad we did! Everyone there was super accommodating, and Ashley made our purchase experience stress-free and even enjoyable! At first glance, we thought they only had over-stuffed, huge sofas and chairs, but they steered us to the smaller options that fit our living room footprint and our style.

They had a delightful range of fabrics for the chairs we selected, and we love the leather finish and color for the sofa. Ashley was really helpful with recommending coordinating colors for the different pieces, down to the stain on the feet of the sofa and chairs!

I had previously thought that this kind of custom experience was out of our price range, but it was on par with Pottery Barn pricing, which offered no opportunity to sit in the sofa or chair we had been considering buying.

The delivery fee was also significantly cheaper than PB, and we are looking forward to receiving our custom furniture!
