Very disappointed with this technician’s services. We had a great beginning. One thing I didn’t like but ignored was when I dropped off my mac, he fixed it without first informing me the price which locks me in from getting another opinion. He texted me an hour after drop off that he had fixed it and my charger being wrong was the problem; shorting my motherboard. He said he cleaned it up and it would be $125. I agreed to price and set up an appointment fir a few days later to pock it up.
When I went to retrieve my mac, I paid him and went back to my car. Something told me to open it up. When I did it was stuck with an errors message I have never seen on any mac I have ever owned. Mind you, I gave the tech my password so there should not have been any password errors. He said I needed to log in to wifi fix it but I just paid him $125 to figure out what was wrong with it. No mention the few days he had my mac that their was any type of error because he needed my password to ensure everything was working properly which he may not have done. The screen was frozen with this error. I had to insist he get the screen unfrozen for me. He kept regurgitating that the software wasn’t his problem. I reiterated that I couldn’t even unfreeze it and that is not how you hand someone back their expensive mac they just paid you $125 to supposedly clean motherboard. Read moreI can't say enough good things about Hi-Mike Hi-Tech... This is twice now they've come to our rescue! The repairs were quick, convenient (he came right to our home!), affordable, and the professionalism and product knowledge from Richard Richardson (the owner) is off the charts.
This young man is literally the reason my husband and I don't pay $20/month for insurance on our iPhones. If you do the math, the cost of insurance plus deductible for ONE phone over the course of a 24 month contract is upwards of $340 ($10/month, $100 deductible)... And that's assuming that whatever is broken on your phone is covered! Every time I have had to deal with Verizon insurance in the past, it has been a battle because they never want to cover anything! I would rather save the money month-to-month, not have to deal with that noise, and support a local entrepreneur if something does go wrong.
He also works on computers/laptops and TVs. He played a big part in my decision to purchase my iMac... He checked out the specs and ad for me, and told me what red flags to look for when picking it up.
