The ice cream is what it is.. Ice cream.. that earns the 2 stars.. the workers, although mostly pleasant, need to learn their product. Depending on the time of day I go, their specialty shake is either served in a small plastic cup, or much larger paper/wax cup. When this is brought to their attention they look at you like you are the idiot and wrong.. it literally just happened to me 30 minutes ago. this time, served in the plastic cup, as compared to the much larger paper/wax cup I got 2 nights ago for the SAME EXACT specialty shake. There is a fairly large difference in size between the 2 cups as well.. so basically for the one price of the specialty shake, a worker, who could care less about a customers thoughts in regard to what you question, gets to choose if you get a large paper/wax cup filled up or the much smaller plastic cup also filled up, but with much less shake inside...
Know who has NO ISSUE differentiating cup sizes ? Dairy Queen right down South Park. And that's where I am going to have to start taking my son and myself for ice cream this summer if Fran Ceil doesn't get their acts together (and their workers in order).
Tired of being ripped off by teenagers with no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a visitor, I'd head about this place and its popularity. Arrived at 7pm on a Friday and the parking lot was almost full and the line was about 15 patrons long.
Line move pretty quickly. Ordered a large frozen custard on a cone. The flavor of the day was pistachio and came out quickly.
The texture was very smooth and soft as expected. I though there would be chunks but it was just smooth. Flavor wise I didn't taste a ton of pistachio but that's been my usual experience, pistachio flavor seldom shows strong but is just subtle. Still the flavor was there. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet but instead let the dairy and light nut flavor do most of the talking. Too much sugar feels unpleasant when eaten I large amounts anyway, and I didn't feel this.
My only regret was getting the large. I was clearly not ready for the size, should have gotten medium or small. But the fault is mine and I will own whatever stomach upset may...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām from out of state and was driving by and I noticed this custard stand. I made a left and parked in the lot next door. I purchased a small-size chocolate custard and it was wonderful! Very tasty and fulfilling not like the Andersonās cone I had the previous evening in Tonawanda. Andersonās charged me more money for a smaller cone that wasnāt all that great. Fran-Ceil Custard is superior. It looks like this business has a long history. I grew up in Town of Tonawanda and used to go to Andersonās over fifty years ago. Thank goodness these small local businesses still exist and I will go out of my way to support them. I was unable to take a picture of the custard stand to post on Google. I would have to walk across the street to take it and I had already seen one bad accident that evening and I did not want to add to the causality list. See...
