Jim's Park and Shop — Local services in City of Olean

The deli is understaffed but they have hard workers and that is respectable. Having said that the cashier that waited on me was deplorable, rude and disrespectful. When I purchased my items I was told that I picked the wrong drink when it did not ring up. She became upset and I offered to get another one for her to ring up. She did not respond to me and walked away. When she came back she was not engaged at all with me the customer. More focused talking to other employees and acting as if I was not there at all. When we were to leave I asked my children to tell her thank you and she turned her back and acted as if she could not here them but I have three children and I know she heard them. Perhaps she chose the wrong line of work in life who knows but it is sad when you are trying to teach your children to respect people and they are given none. She was an older lady 5ft 2 inches, hair to her shoulders, and disincentive old styled coke bottle glasses. This place has a limited selection and is priced ridiculous. I saw chicken roll there once but didn't have the money to get it. I have returned over ten times to buy some but it is never there now. The staff in the deli is so cool and personable. They have a lot of local options which Is cool. I was super impressed by the fact that the owner posted a note near where the domino sugar is supposed to be.the owner got wind that domino is exploiting slave labor and they pulled the product off of their shelves while they investigate the issue. To me that is the kind of integrity I want in the businesses I frequent. So even though the pricing is highway robbery I can forgive it because ei recognize that it is a mom and pop and they have to prove that way to stay competitive with the big box stores. Everyone knows Park and Shop in Olean is definitely one of the more expensive grocery marts you can shop at in Olean, however, they, for over 30 years have been one of my grandfather's only first choices for Steak get togethers faithfully every Friday or Saturday respectively.
