Summer 2022: I frequently shop and spend a lot of money at Menards - because Lowes down the street has the worst customer service in the area. With that said, over the past two weeks I’ve experienced three instances of extremely poor service from Menards. One was from the security guard at the gate who was more interested in his phone than helping me as a customer. His body language and facial expressions reflected that he had zero ambition and that he did not want to do his job. The second instance was in electrical about a week later. I could not find someone in that department to help me. I found someone passing thru and asked for help. His reaction was unexpected. He said “I guess I can help you, but it’s not my dept tho” and said whatever I was looking for “if they have it” would be in the next 3 isles. Electrical is literally 3 isles not counting the lighting area. So, I found someone who actually worked in electrical. She had had no idea, made no attempts to look or ask a supervisor or colleague. Needless to say, it was a wasted trip that left me frustrated and angry.
The bright side and the only reason I gave 3 stars is because in that same trip of two negative interactions, I experienced 3 positive interactions. The positives seems to be from older and more seasoned employees. The plumbing employee who’s been there for years is always pleasant to speak with. He’s cordial, communicates and is always ready to lend a hand. Two other employees on this trip were also pleasant and included a cashier and an employee working on the tile and paint areas.
This is the first time in a long time that I’ve experienced poor interactions at this particular Menards. I hope that it was just a fluke. Updates will follow on...

I politely told the lady that I have a medical exemption. She said "i'm calling security' I said ok and walked on. They caught up with me in the shelving area and the manager told me I had to have a mask. I told him that I have a medical exemption and he said that basically he didn't care and that 'this is private property inside this store' and that they require masks. He told me I needed to leave immediately. I told him that last year that I spent over a $100,000.00 in materials alone. I also told him that they would never get any of my business again. I have already told several customers that I will not go there and they need to find products from other sources. I would like for MENARDS to know, they have permanently lost a local contractor and all of my customers too. I hope they go under and shut their...

I ran into the associate in hardware who’s name was Lincoln. Lincoln went above and beyond trying to help me find what I was looking for. We tried multiple aisles and he did his best searching the inventory for what I was looking for.
Ultimately didn’t find exactly what I was wanting but his level of service was very appreciated. I was pointed in a direction by a couple associates before running into Lincoln which was helpful, but Lincoln put in the effort to make a customer completely satisfied and he accomplished that!
