I've shopped Meijer for around 23 years and can't stand to shop anywhere else. It is very rare for me to not be able to find all I am looking for and more. Update from August 2024* Wow, just sad to update this post because my favorite store was Meijer for a long time but it just goes to show you how one person with a nasty attitude can ruin your opinion. There is a blonde lady named Sarah who works the service desk who looks to be in her 30s and ALWAYS is very nasty when I have a return. She is snide, unhelpful and very much looking to make a return more difficult than it should be. I have asked her in the past in her dealing with me if she has some type of problem with me that I am not aware of. I even went so far as to reach out to management to try and understand why she treats me so nastily to no avail. I even tried to excuse her behavior by thinking maybe me doing returns occasionally made her feel like I was being frivolous but since they have removed changing rooms to be able to try on clothes there are times that I have to return items that don't fit right, I always keep the tags on them and have the receipts so I don't understand why she feels the need to act as if me asking for my money back is a problem to her. It's very frustrating because I still prefer to shop Meijer due to the selection and convenience but find myself not buying many items that I normally would just to avoid dealing with that type of treatment from someone who is supposed to provide great customer service. For the sake of others I actually hope it's just me that she treats this way because I couldn't imagine her treating all people this way. It's very disappointing that it still continues after it was addressed. Sarah if you see this review I really hope you are able to learn from it and evolve rather than just continue to project the attitude on others who are just there to get helpful service. I get having a bad day every once in awhile and could even understand it happening without intent but it's been every...
Read moreI'm all in favor of vaccinations and I have a vast experience in providing medical care in unusual ad hoc environments (Mass Gatherings). Meijer in Marion, Ohio is trying to get on the band wagon and give vaccines to the public. They just started this process and are undergoing severe growing pains in developing their process. The crowd today stood in a line that wound back and forth between aisles in the middle of the busy store without any floor signs measured 6 feet apart to maintain social distancing. So, inconsiderate patrons waiting in line for the vaccine would crowd up against the person in front of them. The intake stations were way too close together and were 2 to a table (sometimes 3) and angled in a small space so there was absolutely no chance of maintaining a 6 foot protective distance and, in fact, making it difficult to get around them. The final line for injection passed right between 2 tables about 4 feet apart. Absolutely no effort was made by Meijer staff to keep people 6 feet apart. The injection area was likewise overcrowded with 2 stations per 6 foot table (10 or 12 tables?), 3 feet apart. The after-injection waiting area was so tight and crowded that there was nowhere to sit or stand. Too much going on in too small a space with too little supervision and too few staff members. How awful would it be to get COVID19 after standing in line to get a vaccine? Today may have been their first day - perhaps they will "adapt and overcome" their notable deficiencies. They would be better served to move out of the store into a large open area (gym, wearhouse, stadium, etc). We were still in and out in just under 1 hour. Mask wearing compliance was generally good with one family having no masks and an occasional person with the mask...
Read moreMEIJER... smh....Over the years, (simply put) YOUR STORE HAS FELL OFF, COMPLETELY!!! So very sad!!! I get it, there's competition(mainly Walmart). In the beginning Meijer was at least engaging in battle. However, from the sidelines it appears that MEIJER IS WAVING THE WHITE FLAG!!! Such a disgrace because literally, there's been NO OTHER superstore PAST or PRESENT favorably aligned on the playing field, commanding attention & reminding the Waltons that CUSTOMERS HAVE OPTIONS. It's a disheartening realization to contemplate over the fact that consumers are FORCED to rely on Walmart and likely to remain so for many many years to come (that INCLUDES YOUR FAMILY TOO, Meijer). Who else is poised to compete? It will be a long time before the tables turn. Currently the only able competition is just allowing the Walton family to take all without putting up a fight at all... Your superstore power has slowly faded and more and more Meijer is resembling HIGH PRICE grocery stores like BIG BEAR(closed!)& GIANT EAGLE. Im sure in time, likely sooner than later, Meijer will fizzle out, easily, with their pride and glory handed to the other guy. Your last saving grace was 24 hr in store shopping... Covid left, and so did your last good attribute... RIP MEIJER.... Im sure the Waltons appreciate...
