Robert's Christmas Wonderland — Local services in Clearwater

First let me say I very rarely post reviews and they are usually positive reviews. We have always purchased real trees however this year decided to purchase an artificial tree considering we have 12 foot ceilings in our new home, and finding a nice tree of this size is difficult. We purchased a tree on line from another vendor b/c after research found one that looks the most realistic so we would not lose the real tree look. Now to our experience at Robert's Christmas Wonderland - we wanted to spend money locally and support local business when it came time to decorate our new tree, especially during trying times like these. We walked in and everyone was nice and there is a lot to choose from, honestly a little overwhelmed with ideas so we asked an associate for help in deciding how may ornaments we needed, she was pleasant and found us someone that could help. He asked what kind of tree we had and we said a 9 foot Fraser Fir with 64" base, and ordered it from Balsam Hill. Response from one of the employees standing by the gentleman we were talking to rudely replied with "well maybe you should ask Balsam Hill".... Not one of the Robert's employees corrected him. My reply was simple and said to the group of employees, "we can always leave and spend our money somewhere where it is appreciated". If it wasn't for our tight holiday schedule I was willing to walk out of Robert's and go to anywhere but there to get our ornaments for our new tree due to poor customer communications from one employee. I know the overall experience should not be judged by one individual but I will never go back. The ornaments we bought were nice but not enough to bring me and my Fiancé back after how we were spoken to... Just set our tree up today and after seeing it compared to Robert's nicest of trees I am glad to say we bought a Balsam Hill Tree to enjoy for years to come, talk about a huge difference! If you want a tree that looks real, spend the little extra money and you will be happy you did; their customer service has nothing but impeccable! Maybe spending over $500 on ornaments at Robert's isn't enough for them...

The place itself is a joy to visit however some staff members are less than pleasant. I purchased a (very expensive) Nativity set that included tiny chests of gold, frankincense and myrrh. I opened the set and the contents of the chests were missing. I called the store and the woman gave me the run around and made me feel as though she did not believe me. Id like to know why she thinks it would benefit me to lie about this. What in the world could I do with a few gold flakes and a couple pebbles of frankincense and myrrh besides display it with the Nativity set that was suppossed to come with it???!! I had contemplated not calling and keeping the set without those items- but I paid $234 for the set that will be in my family for a lifetime so why not get what I paid for?! The offensive woman transferred me (without even telling me she was transfering me) to yet an even more rude woman who told me to bring the entire 23 piece set back so it could be inspected to see if they can find the gold, frankincense and myrrh. I assured her I checked very well and the items are not present. She said it is unfathomable that those things are missing and insisted that I bring the whole set of multiple boxes back and she would exchange for the display set. I am quite unsure why they cannot just swap out my empty trinket boxes for the display ones and why I need to take the set that has been on display and under lights for who knows how many years. I am so displeased with the tone of these women who represent this beautiful store and very unhappy with their resolution. I almost want to just let them have it nd get my money back to purchase this set from somewhere else. I have a hard time supporting a business with ethics such...

Love visiting this place. They have such unique ornaments, lots of artificial Christmas trees/lights & more! If you are looking for specific types of ornaments, this is the place for you! They have theme ornaments, Animals, Career/Jobs, Medical, Movie themes, Floral, Farm, Victorian, Sports, Musical, Baby, Angels, Drinking/Beer/Wine/Liquor ornaments, Cowboy, Children's, Food/Candy ornaments & MORE!!. They also have some beautiful high end ornaments, Angels, Statues etc... inside glass shelves. The tree section is like strolling through a wonderland. Christmas Lights are both traditional and some unique ones. They also have some old style lights that are hard to find like the ones with bubbling water in them! I didn't give 5 stars because they actually had a very very limited selection of Nativity Sets and that was actually why I went there. It's surprising since its a CHRISTMAS store!

Despite the lack of Nativity Sets, I still walked out of there with many things that I didn't know I wanted until I saw them!!! Go visit, it's...
