I recently had a fantastic experience at Hooters in Clearwater, FL and wanted to share my positive review. Here are the reasons why I think this restaurant deserves a solid 4-star rating:

Came to pick up a to go order of 20 wings. Realized after shutting my truck door that I had locked my keys in my truck. Walked inside to pay and pick up my wings. I told the cashier what had just happened and I asked if I could sit somewhere and eat my to go wings because I was hungry while I called and waited for AAA roadside service to arrive. She said absolutely. She then said the patio was first come first serve, so I chose to go to the patio to make it easier. As soon as I found a table and had just sat down, a server asked me what I was doing and I told her that I had planned on taking my wings to go, but that I had locked my keys in the car and was going to eat them here at the restaurant while I ate. She said "ok" and walked away. As I am writing this review, I am still here at the same table 1 hour and 5 minutes later. I have not at all been approached again nor did that original server ever come back. After eating three quarters of my wings I was super thirsty, but no service at all. The bartender looked at me multiple times and other servers walked by without even a glance. The comical thing was watching the manager walk around swirling his soda in his Raceway clear fountain cup from inside of the restaurant to the next. How tacky. He never even came outside until around 8pm. He walked from the bar pass through on to the patio bar and then back through the glass door. He didn't talk to a single customer. Well, AAA just got here so I better get going. Spent over an hour and never had a chance to order a drink. If interested, check the time on my receipt till I left at 8:15pm. Wings were great...

Ordered food through a delivery service. Received the food on time and in a sealed bag. My daughter ordered the Daytona Wings, which she had tried several days before and loved them. She had waited all day for these wings, eating nothing but a snack that she and I had shared earlier in the day. Before she was even done eating 6 of them, she said her stomach was starting to feel weird. She stopped eating after that. A few hours later, she was violently throwing up, along with other gross symptoms I won't mention. I know the food had been immediately delivered to us and was not tampered with in any way. The delivery service did refund my money, but that meant nothing to my daughter who spent at least 12 hours of nausea and vomiting. My boyfriend had a chicken sandwich and I had the salad, and we were both fine. Her chicken was not pink inside which would indicate being undercooked, so the only other explanation is the meat was bad. She will never eat from this or likely any Hooters after this experience. As a parent it was horrible to watch her go through this experience. There is no way this chicken should have been served to the public. I did make a complaint and never heard anything back from Hooters such as an apology, an acknowledgement, or any assurance they will do better. Hooters, come on!! Do better!
