Do not buy any electronics from this store, you will not be allowed to return the item even though their policy states you can.(See picture) I opened the box for a Samsung television to find out the remote and power supply was missing. I called immediately and was told by the manager (Jennifer Slymczak) that I would need to contact the manufacturer myself. After some discussion back and forth, she said to come to the store and they would give me one. I tried to argue the return policy and said I wanted a different television, not my money back, because someone must have already opened this one. The answer was no! The next day I returned with the television in ALL it's original packaging minus the two plastic straps that held the bottom and top together hoping to exchange it. Now the receipt says nothing about being opened, just in it's original packaging, which it was. The answer was still no and she went in the back and came out with both items needed in a sealed package. (See Picture) So they must have opened another television box to provide me with what I needed or do they have these just laying around to hand out? What happens to the box they opened, restrap the box it and sell it when they get a new one from the manufacturer? Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Sam's would have exchanged the item with little issue. I just felt like they were calling me a liar and didn't believe me. They have the market cornered when it comes to Vets wanting a place to shop since the nearest one would be AAFES in Dayton. I put my time in and retired only to be treated like this. We have shopped here since 2004 and to this point I would have rated them 4 but I never tried to return anything...
Read moreThis is a great little location. They have a large selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Plus they have top end items such as purses, clothing, and shoes. You can even order a washer and dryer, and they will match the sale price of other locations!!
I am sad that some people have given this place bad reviews. This is not the Coast Guard's policy, but the policy of all 7 uniformed services.
Sadly, for veterans to shop at the commissary or exchange, they have to be more than "just" veterans.
Unfortunately, the commissary/exchange/PX benefit is very similar to a lot of other military benefits, including exchange privileges. Only active-duty service members, Guard and reservists, medical retirees, retirees, Gold Star widows, veterans 100 percent disabled due to service, Medal of Honor recipients and all of their respective dependents are granted commissary access.
Everyone else? Not allowed.
Commissary 101: How to Shop at the Commissary
But what happens if you are ruled 100 percent disabled due to military service by the Veterans Affairs administration (VA) long after you've left the military? You don't have an ID that says you can use the commissary. So how do you gain access?
Easy: When you are ruled 100 percent disabled due to military service, the VA sends you a letter certifying your status. All you have to do is take that letter to a military pass and ID office and you'll be issued an ID card that grants you commissary privileges. You can use this site to help you make an appointment at your nearest ID...
Read moreI have never been treated more rudely in all of my life. I walked into this store about 9am this morning only to be disrespected about walking into the place. I am a disable veteran that hasnt been home in 4 yrs. I used my daughter id I went to purchase alcohol and was told that I cant. I had a guest that watched me totally be disrespected this thrown at me as well as pointing and yelling. Called the store several times talked to Beatrice Liz was the manger that was completely acting ridiculously. I have never been so humiliated in front of my family. I thought as of November of 2017 we were allowed to purchase. I felt like things could've been handled differently but with racial tension in the country now I guess being a veteran in Ohio...
