Canarys Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Cleveland

When we walked in, it looked a little dated, but no big deal about that, really. We decided to try this spot because it was close to our hotel, and we are REALLY glad we did! I had the farmers skillet with biscuits instead of potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and not frozen or boxed/canned. The hostess at first had a bit of attitude, but I think she was honestly just tired. It was a weekend day, after all. Waitress was great and hospitable. Kitchen staff showed us some Browns love (we were in some Browns gear and in town for the game). My brother got the Saturday special of walleye and fries. Fries tasted like they cut and made them that day. Delicious. The fish wasn't super fresh, but fresh enough. I was shocked by our bill. I am not a fan where the waitresses are complaining very loudly across the restraunt (I am a little hard of hearing so they were quite loud) about what they don't like about their job. Including but not limited to customers asking what the soup of the day is. If you don't ask how are you supposed to know. And free desert. If you don't want me to order then don't offer it. (I never turn down free Ice-cream(yes I am fat but that is no-ones business but mine 😃) Point is complain about customers when they are not there not right after I asked about the soup of the day. I did add to her complaints about waitresses making customers feel un welcome. And customers not leaving a tip. I would have left no tip but my husband did. So I stopped at a place called Canarys like the bird. A friend of mine told me that they had great breakfast so I’m like why not. When I called to place my order I politely asked if they could cut up the French toast if it wasn’t too much of a hassle. The girls response was I’m not sure that they’ll do that but I’ll ask if they can. After I got my food which I got French toast and scrambled eggs with cheese they had no turkey products so no meat for me today. The food was terrible besides the fact of how the staff looked at me when I Came in probably from asking about cutting up the French toast since they see now I have a cast on my arm all I can say is kindness goes a long way even if it is the smallest deed. Because if my French toast were at least cut up it would have taken away from the fact of how awful the food was we’ll never be buying...
