Update 1/2025
I decided to try Ihling’s again as I needed to purchase a new washer after my washer of 28 years finally gave out. On pricing they were as competitive as the big box stores, and somewhat cheaper when I added in installation and haul-away. They had the washer within a few days of ordering and did a nice clean install with friendly service. For new appliance purchases, I will consider them again. I have raised my stars from 2 (previous experience) to 4. ———- 2020 Update…. They came out another time and replaced a second part, and it seems to now be working. I respectfully let the owner know all of the problems I encountered and he apologized and thanked me for the information. I appreciate that he was respectful and I’ve increased my review to 2 stars. I had to go through a lot of frustration to get the dishwasher fixed, so I still consider the entire experience below average, but I appreciate them finally fixing the problem and getting back to me.

I will never do business with this company again!! They charged me $400 for a repair that didn’t work, have been horrible with their communications every step of the way, and when I reported their repair didn’t work they promised the owner would contact me. A week later after repeated calls on my part, I haven’t heard squat.
THE PROBLEM I called Ihlings approximately two months ago for a dishwasher repair. My 6-year-old dishwasher would start a cycle and then the panel would trip out with the lights flashing. They showed up and diagnosed it as a control panel issue and said they would have to order a new panel. One week later they showed up with a new panel but it was black in color instead of white. They said they would order a new panel and get back to me.
THE COMMUNICATION Two weeks went by and I hadn’t heard anything from them so I called. It seems that they did not order a new panel. They promised to contact me once it came in. Approximately two more weeks passed by without hearing anything. I called them and explained that I was very frustrated that they weren’t communicating with me to keep me updated. They explained that they could not find the correct color panel and they would keep looking for it. I went out and did my own web search and that afternoon called them back requested they order the black panel and install that. Two more weeks went by and I didn’t hear a thing. A week ago they called to say the panel had come in and they would come over to the house and fix the dishwasher.
THE FAILED REPAIR They installed the new panel and in total I have now paid a little over $400. I was not there to see if the repair man tested the dishwasher after the install because I was in meetings, but the next day I had a load of dishes to wash. I started the dishwasher and it immediately tripped out, just like it was doing before. I tried various things, resetting the power, resetting the dishwasher and nothing worked. As I was examining the dishwasher, I heard some rattling and I discovered one of the screws holding the door was completely stripped. I couldn’t believe that the repairman would just slip it back in without even tell me that it had been stripped or trying to correct it. I was furious because this is shoddy workmanship in my opinion. I made several videos and sent them in an email to the company. I also left repeated messages asking how they were going to remedy the problem and requesting the owner call me. After a week of empty promises my patience has finally run out and it’s time to hold them accountable. This is the first step.
I had heard so many positive things about this company on my town’s unofficial Facebook page. I also looked at these reviews and couldn’t see anything bad. I am now going to have to see what additional remedies I pursue.

Rich came and while fixing our dryer overheard my conversation and disappointment with Home Depot not being able to deliver our new refrigerator that day due to a broken down truck. We had already been without a refrigerator for 3 weeks now...that's hard with a family of 4. Rich made mention that he had an appliance store and would call the office to see availability.
