I had a very disappointing experience at the duty-free store in Atlanta Airport. I purchased a Toblerone for $12 and was told that if I allowed them to deliver it to the gate, I wouldn’t have to pay taxes. I agreed and was told I just needed to show the receipt at the flight gate. When I got to the gate and showed the receipt, I was shocked to hear that the item had already been handed over to someone else. They gave away my purchase without even verifying a receipt. That’s unacceptable and unprofessional. When I raised the issue, they promised to deliver the item to my seat on the plane instead. That never happened. A flight attendant later came to me and said someone from the store would contact me by phone or email. I never heard from anyone. After returning from my 3-week vacation, I contacted their customer service. They apologized and promised a refund. It’s now been weeks, and I’ve received neither a refund nor any follow-up. This isn’t about the $12—it’s about poor customer service, lack of responsibility, and no accountability. What if it had been a $100 or $200 purchase? If they’re handing over items without verifying receipts, that’s a major issue. I expected better and feel completely let down by...

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this Duty Free store. During a trip, I purchased a bottle of whisky under the assumption that I would be able to carry it on board during my connecting flight. Unfortunately, the staff failed to properly inform me about the restrictions related to duty free liquids and transit regulations. As a result, airport security confiscated the bottle at the next checkpoint.

What makes the situation worse is the store’s complete unwillingness to take any responsibility or offer any refund. I contacted customer service to explain what happened, but they simply stated that once the item is purchased, it's no longer their concern—even though it was their duty to inform me properly at the point of sale.

This is not just about losing money—it's about the principle of good service and accountability. I expected better from a store operating in an international airport, where clear communication and customer care are essential.

I hope they review their policies and improve the way they handle situations like this. Until then, I would not recommend purchasing duty free liquids here if you have...

I was flying KLM to europe and decided to purchase a bottle of whiskey. After paying, the cashier informed me the bottle would be delivered to my gate. Arriving at my gate, the Delta attendant said the bottle was already inside the plane. I went in and they informed me the bottle was not in the plane and i had to pick it up before boarding but i could not go back now. No one knew where my bottle was. One of the KLM crew members said it was a bit suspicious and went back to find the bottle. After a few minutes he came back and delivered the package. He just said ā€œ someone was planning to give themselves a nice presentā€. This process made a Very frustrating experience but very lucky KLM stepped...

I didn't know that you need to go to the Duty Free Americas store only if you want to shop without paying the taxes. So I was at another store. Good thing, it was cheaper even with taxes added ! Chocolate filled with Peaches, 3$ less. They have less interesting things for kids than other stores in the terminal, but if you want fancy alcohol or makeup, it's the place (maybe MAC on the other side too).

Not that great of a selection, but they stock some items, which can be difficult to find in liquor stores in Georgia and elsewhere in USA. Prices are somewhat high, but product is very good. Shelves are well organized and staff is attentive. I wish they had more food to go to take with you to the airplane, such as chocolate and snacks.

Duty free store like any other. No ground shaking prices but it's tax free so i guess it's still a win. Purses, cologne, perfume, watches, electronics, alcohol, all the essentials for a flight haha. Always a good place to stop to pass time prior to a flight. Located on the first floor below the food court area.
