Avoid Sweet Auburn Market at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport!
I recently had the misfortune of visiting the Sweet Auburn Market at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and I can confidently say it was the worst service I have ever experienced. The lady on duty was confusing and rude, claiming that the kitchen was open until 7 PM. When I attempted to place an order at 6:22, I was abruptly informed that the kitchen was closed.
While waiting in line to buy a bottle of water, I overheard her taking an order for a toasted sandwich from someone else. Confused, I asked her why the kitchen was closed if she was still serving food. Her response? "Oh, it's back open now. You should be grateful!" This was incredibly frustrating. Either the kitchen is open or it isn’t—there’s no need for this kind of mixed messaging.
To top it all off, I couldn’t even get a simple drink without enduring such terrible service. I would not recommend Sweet Auburn Market to anyone. Unfortunately, there are limited options for dining when saying goodbye to loved ones at international departures, but I sincerely hope they replace the current staff or rethink this establishment. Save yourself the hassle and...
Read moreThis is a cafe/convenience store in the International pre-security at ATL. The only other food option here is Starbucks. Pretty miserable experience. The cashier/barista rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked what kind of muffins they had in the unlabelled display that was difficult to look closely at because it was behind the counter. No decaf espresso and no non-dairy milk. The espresso machine wasn’t working to steam the milk, so I got my chai latte iced. The blueberry muffin was cakey and plain. The chai latte was like sugar water. I could faintly smell chai but couldn’t really taste any. I considered throwing out the chai and going to Starbucks downstairs even though I never throw out food - I ended up finishing it anyway but the fact that I even thought about it means it was not good. I have had way better experiences with the coffee shops post-security in terms of both product and service, so if this one-off experience is indicative, I recommend grabbing something on...
Read moreI was tired and hungry after flying in from Toronto and was looking at a 4 hour wait for my sister and her family as her flight had been delayed. We were there for a wedding and had planned to drive to the airb&b together. I walked into Sweet Auburn Market and was looking at their menu. A lady at the bar asked if she could help and I told her that I would like to order a sandwich. She said that the kitchen was closed but offered to make me a panini of my choice. A guy sitting close by asked if he could get one too and she took his order. It was a delicious panini and I sat in the restaurant, ate and watched the TV (the masters/golf was on) for a while before moving on. That lady's kindness made my day. I saw her 3 days after when I was heading home. I stopped to say hello and to thank her again. Aleesha, keep being the kind and wonderful person you are and if I should ever be in Atlanta again, I will definitely stop by for one of your...
