We went to trader jacks to set up based on reviews. The people are very strict. As long as you follow the rules you will be fine. The reason that I'm only giving it four stars is because we go to places that are 2 day events and we stay there. We were told at the end of the day that we cannot stay there. We ask what we were to do they said we can leave our things there and go hang out at the rest area. Being that we didn't want to travel over an hour home we did just that. We were told that they used to let people stay overnight but I guess at some point in time someone took advantage of it and broke into the building so they decided no one could stay anymore. Another thing that we were told about after the fact that we looked everywhere online and nowhere does it say that we can't stay and nowhere does it say that we can't make our own food. We woke up at the crack of dawn went to the flea market made breakfast for ourselves and our kids. One of the vendors came over and flipped out on us and said that if they found out that we were using a grill that we would get kicked out. The security guard did come over and tell us that we can't be using it. Luckily the food was done and we put it all away. Again from others people's stories they don't allow that because others took advantage. While we were there they had to shut down the men's restroom because a very inconsiderate person decided to poo all over the place in the bathroom. What this comes down to is them having to be strict about everything and it sucks for people like us who travel for a living and stay overnight. I don't blame the flea market for being so strict. At the end of the day we did okay and would come back for maybe one day trip.

So why do I love trader Jack's? Well I guess it's one of the largest flea markets in the area now, there are many many vendors pedaling a great assortment of goods! Although I am from Pittsburgh, it makes for a nice day out to enjoy getting into the crowd.so, my primary reason as a reseller is to find unique items to put on the internet across all platforms. This may include clothing electronics, cameras, kitchen items, antique and vintage items. It could be anything that you may want to come across that others May show an interest in making a purchase. So today, I spent about $80 roughly. I found some extremely large bib overalls that are of a brand name two pairs of them for a matter of fact. And they are selling for about $90 a pair as they are vintage. I found some vintage ashtrays of TV characters that should be profitable. Some antique cameras, Argus brand complete with cases manuals in the original boxes, two of them. All of them were vintage and should sell nicely, there is a demand. I found a super bowl that was displayed in blister wrap with a book, on one platform it was selling for $90. Also a bar stool from fender guitars that normally retails for about 80, I got for $5. I also picked up a vintage beer tap for a couple of dollars and several other items that would take me too long to mention. Of the $80 about 35 of it was for food goods such as vegetables, produce, meat and cheeses. So out of the $40 or so that I spent on resaleable goods I should make well over $500. Thank you trader jack's, you've done it again!

As a vendor for many years this has become a terrible Flea Market. The people that own the market treat the vendors and customers very rudely. Just check out some of the online reviews elsewhere!

The manager Mo is extremely rude and yells at people that annoy her. I don't know of a single vendor who doesn't dispise her. They even make nicknames about her. She's just downright mean. I noticed one day Mo YELLING from her office at a car trying to leave for the day. She said they didn't have a slip (evidence of a paid spot) he said he did. Rather than check it out they spent several minutes yelling at each other, in very colorful terms. This isn't unique. I have heard her yell at people just complaining about stuff like not having soap in the restrooms. Mo even yells at senior citizens for asking questions or not showing her the YES MAM...NO MAM attitude she demands. She has no customer service skills at all. And the owners know this.

They never have had soap in the restrooms. Now I have seen soap dispensers. The metal kind you see in schools. You push on a handle and soap should shoot out. They have the soap in the dispenser, but the handles are removed. When asked the workers say PEOPLE STEAL the metal handles of the soap dispensers. (in the lady's and men's restroom) And the worker said they won't replace them!

You have to wonder how do the people who work at the 2 snack bars clean up after THEY take a leak? I guess the Allegheny Health Department doesn't care much about this? Maybe foodservice places don't have to supply soap in public restrooms?

And before 7 am you can't use the restroom because the building housing them is locked up, although the Flea Market is open for business at 6:00 AM! So the guys just pee on the backside of the building.

As for the restrooms themselves, the men's room at least, STINK like crazy. And they have no doors. So guys take a leak in the restroom in 2 large urinals that are like bathtubs on a wall. From the hall outside you can look in and watch the guys taking a leak. And they don't seem to run water and flush out the urinals creating the stench!

What business were you ever in that doesn't maintain their facilities. Go to Wal-mart and someone messes up the toilet they clean it. Say what you want about Wal-mart, Target, or any REAL business they try and keep the place clean.

I just don't buy the story that CUSTOMERS steal the metal soap dispenser handles. They probably would USE a great deal of soap if they were installed.

I just wonder why the Allegheny County Health Department doesn't say anything about that. I would think for sure this was something you would be REQUIRED to provide in a public restroom.

Avoid the food there especially. Without soap it seems unsafe and unhealthy to me.

Now be careful. If you complain OPENLY about any of this you will get banned. Mo LOVES to ban people from the Trader Jack's Flea Market. I have seen the cops come and forceably make someone leave that Mo chooses to eject.

Mo went on vacation a couple weeks ago and things went smoothly. The restrooms still stunk. But the check in went fast and smoothly and they seemed nicer that Mo wasn't there. Unfortunately she returned and things sunk back to their dismal level.

It just isn't worth being a vendor there anymore. I guess they feel they are a monopoly and they can do what they...

IF YOUR GOING HERE READ THIS! Here is a honest review from someone who has gone to this Flea Market for about, roughly 7 years...

This is a pretty nice flea market on the outside, but underneath its cover is some really rough bad stuff. The people outside are ok but, there are a few usual's. There is a group of people I think that are some sort of Asian Ethnicity, most likely from Laos, that sell cheap knockoff brand things such as Lego and Pokémon, and sell sunglasses that break within hours for 5$ and a container for them for 5$. Aviod them people, they have all their stuff in cardboard boxes and have large rusty blank white moving trucks. However, the fruit people do have good fresh fruit. Buy some of that Kettle Corn, really good!

Now for the Inside, its hell lets say that. To start, the few food vendors there are down right disgusting, its unsanitary and tastes terrible, and is never kept cleaned. The fact that the bathrooms have no soap, smell terrible, and the mens room have something that looks like what a cow or pig eats food out of, it shows the place is not cared for, or has any sanitary value. Not sure why the A.C.H.D hasn't done anything yet. The Vendors in there itself are also bad...

Book People: There is a area of overpriced and old crappy books no one wants, the people are annoying and don't act kind.

Puzzle and Games Lady: There is a old lady who is across from the Book People, and here stuff is all overpriced as well, and piled towards the ceiling.

The Stoners and Weapons People: Lots of hippies and people selling smoking devices, throwing stars and knifes, and more. They all look like Bikers, but are pretty nice.

The Asian Lady and Guy: A old Asian woman sells lots of plants and stone fountains, super overpriced, the man sells junk no one wants.

TV and Video Game People: Recently they have been moving stuff around or leaving, not sure, but they have always had some interesting stuff at a pretty decent price, especially for those old games.

Baseball Card Guy: Some 60-70 year old dude selling old baseball cards, pretty overpriced as well

Train Enthusiasts: They sell Trains and the models for the tracks and stuff, but it looks more like a bunch of old people talking about trains who don't care about the stuff they sell

And last of all, Ms. Mo (I think) and her stuff. The Devil in a old woman This old woman hates all her people and just wants the cash, she chooses favorites, kicks people out of the flea market with the help of cops, and is down right insane, in everyway. Very rude to everyone, and requires everyone to talk to her like she is a Serge in the military. If this area is hers, I can understand. In the back between the Asian Woman and Train People is a area of the building of everything ranging from Jewelry to clothes to collectibles, laying in piles after piles, never moving, never selling Why? She prices things worth .50 or $1 for about 5-15$, and its a junk heap.

Im not sure how this place hasn't been sued or closed for the health, but the stuff outside is usually different every time, and during June and July the fireworks are nice priced.

Hope this helps to clear up how this place is.

Ms. Mo if you read this, F$*# you and...

Trader Jacks was a place that I loved going to with my boyfriend on Sundays. The vendors are amazing.

HOWEVER be aware that the owner is very cheap and aggressive. I feel bad for the vendors that have to deal with her. She wants to make a quick buck and doesn’t care if she hurts people and businesses while doing it.

This past Sunday, we sold at trader jacks. We purchased a vendor slip the previous day which was $25 for a spot. Everything was fine and we were handed the yellow slip of paper (the owners keep the original slip showing our information and purchase).

When showing up on Sunday, we unfortunately left our slip at home. When arriving, the male worker informed us that we had to buy another spot because they have no record that we bought a spot (even though they keep a copy of the original slip). We had pay an additionally $25 for the SAME spot we already purchased the previous day. The worked said the owner doesn’t get it until 9am but we can talk to her about it.

Luckily, a family member at home had the original slip and sent me a picture of the slip. I would think since we now have the original slip, we would be refunded as all vendors pay $25 for a spot, and we paid $50 for a mistake that I fully take responsibility for.

When talking to the owner, she stated there is nothing they can do and basically said “too bad”. Even when I showed her the original slip, she stated that they do not have the copies and they are sent somewhere else everyday. It doesn’t make sense that the owner wouldn’t keep record of who is at her business, especially one as large as this one. It was also said auditors take the slips everyday. I am an auditor/accountant and it doesn’t make sense that her auditors would be ok with her charging twice for the same spot or not keeping records. Additionally, she said that we can’t accept the phone picture as they can’t take it. However, they do not take the yellow slip anyway. When you show up to sell in the morning, you just present the slip to them and they read it off.

We went back and forth for a little. After showing her proof of both slips purchased for the same spot, she started to get aggravated and hit the window yelling at me telling me to shut up. At that point I said I can say whatever I want and she proceeded to kick me out. At no point in the conversation exchange was I hostile, I was pointing out that we have both slips and it is unfair that she is making us pay double for one spot. I told her how I am not telling her how to run her business but as a human being, you know this is wrong and no one would want to be in my situation.

As I said before. The vendors and people are great! However be very careful if you have to sell there because the...
