Let me start this by saying, i very rarely ever rate anything bad. Let alone 1 star. But this Honestly was one of the worst places I've been to in a while. The server (I'm pretty sure he was the owner too) wasn't very good. He spoke too soft to hear. And his attitude was obvious that he didnt care about much of anything. He also just didnt bring out silverware for my friend and I. We were stuck with our food in front of us, and no way to eat it, for about 5 minutes. In that time, he was too busy complaining about the art on the walls, to the only other customers there. When i finally DID get to eat my food, it was bland. I literally couldnt taste a thing. There was no difference between my food, and my water, flavor wise. Honestly I'm not trying to be rude. I really did try to focus on it and taste SOMETHING. But I couldn't. There was also something off on it in general, because half way through eating it, i felt extremely sick. I almost threw up at the table. It hit me out of nowhere, and I could tell it was the food. Its been an hour or 2 since i ate, and i still feel sick. The waiter/ owner also never stopped to ask how things were, or if i wanted more water. I'd rate this 0...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped through for dinner while driving through the area. We walked inside and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant is really unique inside with wall murals stretching all across the restaurant. Once we were seated it took a second for someone to come by to take our drink order and drop off a chip basket with salsa. Our server was also not very personable or friendly. She was pretty to the point and didn’t really seem like she wanted to be there. I will note however, a man I assume to be a floor manager was regularly checking up on us. Once we ordered our food came out pretty quickly. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Chimichangas (“4/5 ⭐️/ delicious / heavy but in a good way”) and the cheese dip that comes with chorizo (also very good). I ordered the Quesabarilla Tacos (really good, but very messy). During our meal, the server came through pretty frequently to bus the table. While I don’t usually mind a server pre-busing the table, I felt like i was being rushed through my meal. All together it wasn’t a bad experience and I wouldn’t mind going back. I just hope the service is a little...
Read moreI've been here three times in like 5 years, and each time, I've left happy. My usual first order at a Mexican restaurant is the carnitas plate, because that will give me an idea of the rest of the menu. If this NorCal gringa can make better carnitas than a Mexican restaurant, I will pass on another visit. Obviously, since I've been here 3 times, their carnitas are good.
I always feel like I'm back in Sacramento at the myriad family run Mexican restaurants when I'm in here, though it's smaller and missing the salsa bar, and the boisterous mariachi bands... but that's not a bad thing.
This last time, I got the campachano tacos and my husband got the birria style tacos. Our picky 4 year old got pink lemonade, french fries and a quesadilla. They were all delicious.
The only reason we don't visit more often is because we live in the 10th ward and Bridgeville isn't exactly a quick trip.
I definitely recommend this place. It's an unassuming hole in the wall, and those are usually the hidden gems you want...
