My family and I have been coming to this location of Lifetime fitness since the day it opened over 10 years ago. In fact, we joined the club even before it opened. When I left for college (out of state), I cancelled my membership. This year when I came to visit, I used my brothers guest pass to enter the club. The next day a member of the sales department contacted me after noticing I had used my brother's guest pass and offered to give me a week long guest pass. I thought that was very nice of her and accepted the offer. The pass was issued for December 15 - 21, the days I would be in town for the holidays. After two days of me going to Lifetime and on the third day I went, this sales representative told me that my guest pass had been cancelled because "too many people were coming to the club." When I asked why she never told me over the phone that there was a chance I wouldn't be allowed in the club, she said "Dalton Alexander (Sales Manager) told me we only allow guests to come a couple of times every few months. You can purchase a day pass for $30 or a full membership for the next couple of days you are in town." I have a few thoughts about that rule: 1) I would have been happy to pay for a guest pass, but why did you issue a complimentary 7 day guest pass for me if this is the case? 2) That should have been communicated to me when you issued the guest pass. 3) No where on the electronic guest pass does it say guest passes will be cancelled after x amount of days of usage.
This sales representative is brand new, and it's clear to me from this experience that this Lifetime location is clearly not training its employees. It's also clear to me that they will make whatever sort of rules they want and enforce them at their own will.
My family has been incredibly disappointed with the service given they have been going to this club for over a decade. It is clear that the priority of this club is to just sell memberships, so they aren't concerned at all about the quality of service they offer to existing members (my entire family). If you're looking to join a fitness club or even go as a guest, I would highly discourage you...
Read moreIf I could give this place a negative star I would. My family and I move every few years and we lived in Memphis for 3 years, which is when I joined Lifetime. I was a member there for awhile and enjoyed my experience at the club. The reason for the review is due to the TERRIBLE customer service when it was time to move. We moved out of state in October of 2018. When I found out we were moving, I called to cancel. I spoke to a gentleman that told me I needed to mail in a letter, which I did. The following month, I saw my card was charged, so I called the Club. I then spoke to a woman named Alexis. I was told the letter needed to be certified. I then sent in a certified letter on November 19th. I saw it had been signed for, so I threw my receipt away. On January 11, 2019, I saw that I had been charged for December AND January. I called and spoke to a woman who told me that she was the Assistant Manager to Member Services. She apologized and told me she would tap to her manager and give me a call back that day to resolve the issue. I never heard back. I called my credit card company and told them to block all charges related to Lifetime. I the sent a THIRD letter to cancel. Sure enough, I got an email today from Lifetime saying the my credit card did not process for my February payment. Luckily, this time I saved my receipt. Member Services at the club didn't;t answer the phone so I called their 800 number to cancel. I had to send him a picture of my receipt. I was then told I still had to pay the prorated price for February!
Long story short, this is a great facility. BUT if you ever plan on having to cancel your membership, save your time and energy. Literally go anywhere else. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER...
Read moreThis gym is clean and staff is nice. None the less, if you are a young female I do not recommend it. I had to cancel my membership after having a mid aged, short, hispanic/asian guy approach me & my friends while working out various times. The gym should be a safe place for any female to go to regardless of your age. It is unacceptable for a male you do not know to come behind you while you are doing squats or other exercise's and get close to you. It did not happen to only my friends and I but any female around the age of 16-35 please be alarmed. He usually wears dark color clothing, and will come and approach you at any area of the gym. After my friend nicely told him to please leave her alone because he is a creep and gets all in your personal space he got upset. He will ask you to follow him on his social media Ale* M**This type of behavior should not be allowed at a gym especially a family friendly gym. A gym should be a safe place for any female to workout without being approached and tried to get touched by creeps such as this. I am not sure why this man is still allowed in the gym, it would be obvious that the gym would dismiss him and cancel his membership. It did not just happen once to us, it happened at least 5 times with just that individual. We saw that the individual did not just approach us, but will specifically target any female that is alone without a male. I am sure the gym is aware because you can see how uncomfortable each female gets when he approaches them. Other members are nice, but this individual definitely lowers the safety of this gym. My friend was approached by him this week again! She will also be canceling her membership at lifetime amongst other friends. Take your money to a place that cares about...
