So very disappointed after visiting Skybox for the first time. A friend recommended this place and my husband, 2 tweens and I had the pretzels and beer cheese for an appetizer. The pretzels WERE very good. The beer cheese, was meh. (We LOVE the Blackhorse Pub beer cheese in Clarksville, TN, so this stuff at Skybox was super bland.) Next we ordered mac’n cheese, for my cheese loving daughter-with a side of sweet potato fries, an adult-sized cheese pizza for my pizza loving girl, my husband ordered a mushroom Swiss rib-eye burger with fries and I decided on the Red fish tacos with mango salsa due to the waitress’s recommendation. Wow! All were failures! The mac’n cheese- tasted like milk on noodles, no cheesy goodness or even any saltiness from cheese-flavorless. Her sweet potato fries? Half fried/baked and still very crunchy from raw sweet potato inside. I love good sweet potato fries, and these had salt on them, but-a no go. No body finished her milky-noodles and undercooked sweet potato fries. Next the pizza. Who can mess that up? Well, these guys did. A super bland pizza with hardly any flavor to the sauce, dough or cheese. But still- one thing we brought home and slowly ate over the next day because we felt we should after what we paid for it. My husband’s mushroom Swiss rib-eye burger, oh mercy. It was not at all what he had hoped for and he LOVES a good mushroom Swiss burger from most restaurants. This one lacked seasonings and tasted super bland too. And he LOVES a good rib-eye steak. Steak and Shake, Sear Shack heck, Sonic all make burgers with flavor in them. I make a better one from ground beef and my own seasonings but so digress. Finally my tacos that I had looked so forward to! Ick. I finished them- when I should have sent them back. Bahamas Breeze makes delicious, DELICIOUS, fish tacos. These ones were...you got it. Bland. The mango salsa? Flavorless and crunchy/mushy. They must have used way under-ripe mangos and did not use any seasonings or even salt. So I had very strongly fishy grilled or pan seared fish in 3 tortillas without any other spiciness from said mango “salsa” and regretted eating them. The only good thing about eating there was the pretzels and upon leaving, Girl Scouts were selling cookies. The tab which included a couple beers? $75 before tip. Oh yes! The manager or owner came by asking how our meal was- we told him “...It was...okay...” To which he quickly replied, “thanks for coming out! Come see us again.” He must have really not cared. Ouch! We will NOT...
Read moreI am not familiar with this restaurant and called to place a to go order and after being nearly done with the order, the girl hung up on me. I did ask several questions…I called back and got another female who stated she was not the one that I had spoken to and the next thing I know I was talking with a male. I explained to him what happened and that I was nearly finished with my order. He said the screen was wiped out so I would have to start over. He rushed me through it but we got it completed. I got there early so went in and sat at the bar to wait. I told the bar tender that I had placed a to go order and it had an order for a pretzel which I would like to have there while I was waiting. I got the pretzel and within a few minutes, my order was ready. I looked through it and there were several errors plus a pretzel. On the menu, there is an option to get 1 pretzel for $6 or 2 $10. So I asked to just have the price adjusted for the cost of 2 pretzels but they said they couldn’t do that. They corrected the errors as best they could as far as the other food. The manager offered a dessert for the inconvenience. At first I declined but later I took him up on the offer. When I got my check, I was super shocked!! I have never paid $60 for a to go order for 2 people. As it turned out, I was charged for both pretzels, the dessert and .50 for each order since it was “to go”. Which no one ever advised me nor was there a sign anywhere indicating that. Also, I had asked that the mushrooms be subbed for the bell peppers because I’m allergic to peppers so I was charged.50 for that, again with no advance knowledge. It was just an unfriendly atmosphere altogether. Or maybe it was me since I had just lost my 52 year old brother suddenly and...
Read moreWent today for brunch. Didn't take to long to get seated. Waiter was nice and personable, food was good came out quick. I ordered the pretzel for our app. It was really good cooked all the way through and the cheese that came with to dip it in oh my so good. My friend had the steak and eggs she said it was pretty good. I ordered the chicken Philly and asked if they could make sure if they could make sure the pepper and onions were sauteed really well. For me peppers have to be fully sauteed or I can't eat them on anything. Anyway, they were sauteed to perfection :) and the sandwich was good. Sides fries and onion rings both were good. Drinks were really good. Also met the owner asked if they made a good alcohol coffee drink and the owner was like of course I have something you will like and I did. I think he called it a San Francisco. It was super good but I ended up wanting a cold one. I finished that one and told the waiter he told me he didn't know so I asked if he could just bring that and like a scoop of ice cream then to keep it simple since I knew I liked that one and since they are so great he obliged me and brought me a little bowl of really good vanilla bean and well I mixed them and it turned out great. I know this is a book and I'm sorry but I thought people should know how great they are and...
