I have lived at Kelly’s Ridge approximately 20 months and continue to enjoy the experience. I am a full-time professional, consultant, and doctoral student who wanted and needed a quiet, safe, and responsive living environment. I moved from Pennsylvania and secured an apartment at a different property in CoMo prior to my arrival. I was disappointed upon my arrival at the first property and asked to be referred to a different property. When I arrived at Kelly Ridge the staff and resident, who would become my neighbor, were warm, welcoming, and helpful. They provided options of different units at different locations on the property – all were clean, fresh and the inspection process was easily accessible by phone. I selected a unit near the pool, a great amenity on the property. They provided a space in the clubhouse for me to sit with laptop to make changes to movers, shipments, and insurances given my change in address. Kelly Ridge’s convenient location locates you close to: grocery stores, Columbia Mall, four institutions of higher learning in the city (Stephens College, MU, Columbia College, MACC), close to highways and 20 minutes from Columbia Airport (COU). The grounds are kept clean, maintenance is responsive to submitted work orders and the website is easy to navigate. When my partner joined me – she was received warmly by staff as well. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clubhouse staff worked hard to create socially distanced community – bringing in food trucks and conducting BINGO via the windows of the Clubhouse. I highly recommend...
Read moreI have lived in various places around Columbia and Kelly's Ridge is the worst experience I have had by FAR. When we had first moved the property managers were very short and seemed standoff-ish.
DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU VALUE SAFETY. After having lived there for under a month my vehicle was broken into (yes it was locked). When notified about the problem the mangers reminded us they were not responsible for any theft or issues and pushed the problem off to their "Community officer" who stated "I have seen them when I was off duty but didn't do anything." and "I think I know who they are and where they live" but still refused to do anything about the issue. HERE I AM 3 VEHICLE BREAK IN'S in 6 months with nothing being done to address it except be offered to get on the WAIT LIST for a garage that can be anywhere within the property. I called the office when they sent out the renewal notices and asked very politely if there was a plan to address the ongoing vehicle break in issue, they responded with a quick no. Recently I was told that this has been going on at Kelly's ridge for over 2 years. 2 years without a plan in place is not acceptable especially when it comes to your tenants property being continuously damaged. I will add that maintenance has been very quick to respond and address issues, but seems to just try temporarily fixing...
Read moreI'm coming up on 2-years at Kelly's Ridge and these are truly the best apartments I've lived in.
Within the last year, they completed some large projects that completely updated their gym (I'm pretty sure the equipment was brand new AND it's legitimate gym equipment); renovated the actual pool and added new furniture; and updated their online system to a modern way of paying rent and submitting maintenance requests. I've never had issues with noise from my neighbors. Where my building is located, I never have issues with parking. Landscaping is always nice. Maintenance is super quick and friendly. Leasing staff is all very nice and they do a lot of get-togethers throughout the year for K.R. residents.
If I had to say something negative -- One thing about my particular apartment that I am not a fan of is how my master bedroom and closet are always significantly hotter or cooler than the rest of the apartment. I don't mind it in the winter because I like the cooler temp. but in the summer I have to turn down my AC quite a bit because of it ($$). Not sure if it's an insulation problem?
Overall, though, I'm very happy with my choice and I would live at KR again. The updates they've made within the last year have really given them a competitive advantage over other...
