AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. I say this because when I order online, they never follow my instructions. This has been a problem for more than a year. I always tell them that the only things I want with my food are napkins and soy sauce but they always include plastic utensils and duck sauce and mustard. The last time I checked duck sauce and mustard and plastic utensils were not napkins or soy sauce. If they can't get that right, do you think they won't put nuts in your food if you ask them not to?
The last order I placed included 4 large servings of wonton soup. The large order of wonton soup normally has 7 or 8 wontons in it but my recent order only had 3 in each container. I paid for wonton soup and got water soup instead. On top of that, when my order arrived, the delivery guy called and said he was in front of my apartment building. I told him I would be there in a few minutes. He actually had the nerve to say, "How long is a few minutes?" I said, "As long as it takes me to walk down there." That's not how you talk to someone who just ordered $66.00 worth of food from you. I'll continue to order from them once in awhile but I hope a new Chinese restaurant opens downtown so I'll have an alternative...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRight from the start there was some confusion finding them because their address led to a strip mall with a place called "China Star" on the front. After a quick phone call from the parking lot they cleared it up explaining they were both.
The interior was clean and tidy, staff wore masks and some latex gloves also. There are a couple of booths and chairs at a bar for dining in, however none were taken during my visit. There was a lot of take out and delivery traffic, which clearly is their primary business.
The menu was expansive with plenty of "American style" dishes next to obviously authentic Chinese fare. You'll definitely find things you're used to seeing next to other things to experiment. Even though they were busy, my order only took 15 minutes. You have the option of also ordering online and paying in advance for either pick up or store based home delivery via their website.
Parking out front was ample, with handicapped spots near the door with curb ramps.
I admit I was hoping to find a dining experience but the quality of the food i brought home was superb and delicious. It was packed nicely and everything was still hot. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my "go to" Chinese restaurant. The service is very quick and the price is super reasonable plus it's upstairs with a great view of Broadway even though it is south facing so if you go in the middle of the day I could see the sun being an issue. I always get the lunch special, deep fried cashew chicken if I'm on a cheat day but usually just the chicken an broccoli which they can make steamed or in any sauce you want. It comes with a soup and a side for only $5.25. Again super reasonable. If you looking for more traditional Chinese food I'd recommend the beef noodle soup or the Szechuan boiled fish/beef but be warned for the latter you must have a high tolerance for spicy food. I enjoyed the boiled fish so much I went home to look for recipes online and found some sites referring to it as the "Outlaw Chinese Dish" I really feel this place cant miss. If you're downtown and just looking for a quick lunch or dinner at a good price this is your place but also if you're out out on the town and want to impress your friends with your knowledge of traditional Chinese cuisine and perhaps your high tolerance for spicy food then you cant...
