The first time I went here I had scheduled a test drive for a 2024 Elantra hybrid. When I got there, I waited for about 10 minutes and was then told that the car was at another lot and they had to bring it to the dealership. Later it arrived, but I was told there was no gas in the vehicle and it needed filled. When I actually got to drive it, it was 45 minutes past my appointment time. The saleswoman then directed me where to drive, which ended up being about a 5 minute loop (never took on the highway or drove over 40mph). She said they were busy and there just wasn't enough time for a longer test drive. First off, they should have had the car prepped and ready for my appointment. Next, they shouldn't dictate the test drive route or pressure the customer into doing a short test drive where they can't mimic normal driving conditions. When we got back she worked with the finance manager to try and push me to buy the same day, but I wasn't looking to buy at the time. Was just weighing my options.
A couple months later I ended up deciding I was ready to buy a car and wanted to get an Elantra like I had tried before. I saw an offer for $2500 off on one at this dealership and contacted them about it. Their website mentioned a deal where you could get 3.89% APR on Elantras too. I was hoping to combine that with the $2500 off, but was told that wasn't possible. Nowhere on their site did it state that offers couldn't be combined, even in the fine print offer details that I read. That caveat needs explicitly stated somewhere.
I decided that even though I couldn't get the lower rate I wanted, that I still had a decent rate from my bank so I wanted to move forward with getting the car. Got there, test drive and everything went fine that time. Where things fell apart was with the finance managers. There was a weird back and forth for awhile where the salesperson acted like a middleman going back and forth with the finance manager, instead of them coming out and talking directly to me or bringing me into their office. I presented the letter from my bank and said I wanted to use that for my loan. After some more waiting I was eventually brought into a finance manager's office to sign some paperwork.
The manager told me that we couldn't use the rate from my bank (which was 6.5%). I didn't quite understand what he was saying, but it was something along the lines of "when I send a rate request to them I can't get 6.5% from them, but we've got another lender (can't remember the name) who's at 6.89%. We'll use that and then you can take in your letter to your bank on monday, transfer your loan, and they should honor your rate". The whole spiel sounded off, but being a first time car buyer I opted to trust him. Took the car home that day and went to the bank first thing on monday. I explained the situation to the bank teller, who told me that wasn't at all how their rates or system works and that I should have been able to get my loan with them for the rate on my letter, and that I'd have to go talk with the dealership. I left feeling very frustrated and lied to. Managed to get back to the dealership a couple days later and get them to transfer my loan to my bank for the rate I had agreed to, which was just proof that they could have done it the first time and I was tricked.
Now I'm having trouble getting my title memo. The 45 day period ends on 6/24 (2 days) and I still don't have it. I've contacted the dealership multiple times, including direct contacting a salesperson who gave me his phone number, and have been stonewalled. Every time I'm told "yes we'll look into it for you and contact you later" and I hear nothing. I asked a finance manager about the plan for after my temp tags expire on monday and was told that I have to go to the bmv and pay to get them renewed myself, and that the dealership wouldn't handle it. I'm not happy about that at all because I shouldn't have to spend extra time and money for the dealership's mistakes.
I contacted the clerk of courts and was told that I'll have to reach out to the...
Read moreI had done business with Ryan, and I can honestly say that it was the easiest sale Iâve had. I had first started with Hyundai in California, and after moving back home to Ohio I started coming to this location for service. As a quick note, I am also happy with their service department because theyâre not pushy about you getting optional maintenance services done, and thatâs rare. There were two gentleman, I had forgotten their names unfortunately, but they were kind the few times I worked with them. Even when I was running around like a chicken without a head trying to get last minute things out of my car at drop off lol, they let me do my thing. Theyâre quick, honest, and efficient, and they have my appreciation as well.
Now back to sales. So I had decided to investigate my options for a new lease, as the old one wouldâve been up in early summertime. My mom had previously spoken with Ryan about wanting a venue for herself or for me, so he knew what we were looking for before I had actually met him. My mom decided to call him up after a few months of us searching, and he not only still remembered us, he was ready to give us options on the spot/on the phone. My mom and I were skeptical after having horrible experiences with previous dealerships and with me having been sold a lemon car a few years back from Youngstown. So we proceeded with caution, and I had my heart set on a venue despite its limited availability, plus my vehicle was still Californian made/owned, so it was an extra special situation. I first walked into the dealership with zero positive expectations, but the woman at the front desk and Ryan were kind and attentive right off the bat. My mom and I were still stressed and kept going back and forth, but he was patient the whole time we were bickering in Russian lol. He even told us about how his wife and his friends share a similar/same culture and language as us, and it was refreshing to hear, especially in the state of Ohio if you know what I mean.
When it came down to the nitty gritty, I told him my number, and he not only matched it, he got me lower than I asked for. No strings attached, no questions, no haggling. Nada. I was gaping at him like a fish out of water when he came back with the paper and said, âokay, finance manager agrees. We have a deal, I just need a signature.â I have never had a salesman be so honest and patient when it came to giving me a car, or getting me my asking price, let alone the car I had my heart set on. They even took my car as is, no questions asked. Ran back home to get my car, dropped it off, and drove off the lot that same night. Car sales are usually a lot of back and forth and smoke and mirrors. Cue the sleazy salesman trope, and though there are still a lot of those around, I can honestly say Ryan is not one of them. Him and the finance manager that helped us were so kind, professional, and efficient that Iâm still pinching myself every time I drive my new lease. It was that quick and easy. He also had wonderful follow through, as he called me a few times after I drove it off the lot to make sure everything was running smoothly and I was happy.
To make a long story short, I donât know about other sales people there or the previous history of this particular dealership, but I can 100% recommend Ryan and his close associates for when you are looking for a car at a Hyundai dealership. Thank you guys again for letting me have the car I had my eye on for a year, and thank you for the stress-free...
Read moreOn their website they posted 2021 Sonata and didnât mention anything about the damages, it was stated that everything was perfect and it was in a great condition. So I drove 60 miles to get there with my pre approval from my bank to test drive it then purchase it because it was an official dealership and the car was CERTIFIED pre owned. But when i went there I had to question myself am I buying a car from Hyundai dealership or craigslist⌠because that car did not look like what they had described on website. The tire had a deep hole, itâs ILLEGAL to sell a car with a tire like that especially the FRONT tire, itâs illegal to let anyone take it for a drive with a tire like that! it can pop anytime and cause serious accidents. Also, the same passenger side rocker panel was broken and same side front right pillar trim panel was also out of its place. It was OBVIOUS that all those damages were related and happened at once. Used cars sales manager didnât event want to look at it. Yes thats exactly what he said: âI am not even gonna look at that because Iâm not fixing itâ even though He himself with his own mouth said that it happened in the lot there so since THEY did it THEY have to fix it at no charge from the buyer. Because itâs obvious that it happened after it went through inspection. I asked them if they could at fix it before i pick it up or to give me a discount, he only took off $260 for ALL THAT. I denied that discount and asked them to fix it. The manager barely agreed to fix the side rocker panel ONLY, he gave me an attitude like it was my fault. I think he acted that way because he said there was another buyer that wanted to get for a higher price with ALL THOSE DAMAGES which I didnât believe. He should learn his rights, and that he doesnât have the right to âchooseâ the buyer, the buyer chooses the car. Since the damages were done by THEM I wanted THEM to fix it. I had all the rights to demand it. But unfortunately used cars sales manager didnât have to say except âyouâre buying a used car what did you expectâ and only agreed to fix the side rocker panel. They also said they would call me the next day and let me know when it would be ready for pick up. I waited whole day no calls no emails. and the next day which is today I called myself and left voicemail, after awhile I called again and reached the sales manager that was helping me, he just said âhe doesnât knowâ. after awhile he called to ask for insurance but he still didnât know when it would be ready, he didnât even if they started on the car. And no I wasnât in a rush to pick up the car, I as a working person just wanted to plan things ahead and I think as a customer I have the right to ask and to know when the car I signed a contract for would be ready. I am very disappointed! Unfortunately I have to drive 60 miles to that dealership AGAIN to pick up the car IF itâs fixed. I donât even know if i can drive 60miles to get back home safely with that tire. P. s. I havenât picked up the car yet but hopefully the issues stated above will be resolved....
