Nail Artist — Local services in Columbus

I asked for my gel nails off and regular polish. The lady kept saying "you know regular polish chips. Gel so much nicer." I kept saying I didn't want gel again it was for a special occasion. She pushed me again to get gels and finally I said NO!

The gels came off easy enough but the manicure part was one of the most painful I have ever had. My nails were "soaked" in a shallow bowl of tepid water with marbles for less than 3 minutes and then she went at my cuticles like a weed whacker. Multiple times I pulled my hand away and said "OW!" multiple times my cuticles bled. She said "you okay." Not a questions a statement of fact. Her tools came from a plastic box in her drawer, not from a sealed bag from an autoclave. I have serious concerns about the sterilization of the tools. I came home and soaked my hands in Epsom salt and doused them in alcohol to try and get rid of any possible germs. HORRIBLE!! Do not waste your money! I use to be a regular until they became money hungry and stopped being respectful towards their customers. All they care about is taking your money and their quality dropped tremendously over the years. Every time I come for services they pass me off to their new staff which I do not mind however you will quickly find out they have not been trained and I have to ask Kathy or her husband to fix it. It happened too many times for it to be a simple mistake, It’s obvious they just want you in and out! That only causes for me to be there much longer. I spent four hours Saturday because this happened and they barely acknowledged their mistake. I have been going to Kathy and Danny for over 7 years. The shop is located adjacent to Iron pony off of Westerville road and an auto zone on the corner of the plaza, so if you pass it you've gone too far. The shop is kept very tidy with plenty of space for seating and movement of employees and customers. There is a wide variety of colors and options and if your not sure Kathy is very helpful. If something can't be done the techs aren't shy to say but they are willing to try anything. Danny who is my preferred nail tech is one of the most precise, efficient nail artists there is.
