Northern Lighting — Local services in Blendon Township

We worked with Northern Lighting for a home addition that included lights for exterior, kitchen, dining, powder room, mud room, etc. The beginning of the process with Kelli was good but the end when we actually needed the lights - is where things fell apart. I never got direct communication on what happened & the woman at the front desk was able to bring what they had and cancel the rest of what I paid for when we decided to end working with them. All said, Kelli told us multiple times a potential delivery date over 2 months and we never got all our lights after paying in full and re-selecting when things had a long lead time. She told my husband at one point (was not answering my emails, or my phone calls) that it sounded like she forgot to place the order. The end of this process was bizarre as I received so many conflicting messages, when I did get a response. I am grateful for the woman at the front that quickly confirmed delivery of what they had, and what I could cancel. That was the most prompt help I received. We had built a home and went with the standard lighting package. We found light fixtures we wanted to place in our kitchen and discovered that the hole in the ceiling over the breakfast bar was too big for the 5 and a 1/2 inch base of the fixture. We needed a larger base, but one that looked exactly like the other light fixtures so that you would not be able to tell the difference. Lowe's and home depot did not have anything. The lady at home depot recommended Northern Lighting, which was right down the road from our home. I went and explained to the man my situation and showed him a picture of the ceiling and light fixture base. I told him I needed something about 8" in diameter. He went to the back and brought out a brushed nickel 7 and a 1/2 inch base. I asked him how much it was and he gave it to me for FREE! It worked perfectly. My wife and I have been customers of Northern Lighting for over 15 years. They are a fantastic company to purchase your lighting needs. In my opinion they are the best in the central Ohio area. The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable and very respectful, along with allowing you all the time you need to make a perfect choice in lights for your home. The showroom is fantastic and the light displays are great when you want to see how the light looks when it is turned on. The sales person actually installed different types of bulbs, some could make the right choice. She sat down with us and went though multiple catalogs and fully described the details and features. She even ordered a few samples that were not in stock so we could decide which type of light would look best in are house. How many companies will go the extra mile in today's world?
