The good and the bad, I had been going there often for the past year. Up until tonight, I had only gotten take-out and never sat down to eat. And I wish I had never done so because the service was extremely rude. The good?...the woman named Lu who works there is one of the nicest and sweetest people I have met since coming to Columbus. She usually handles the take-outs and the cash register. I have spoken to her 90% of all my time going there. She is the reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 1. The bad, her coworker....the one I unfortunately got stuck with serving me during my first (and last!) sit-down experience. When she asked me what kind of rice I wanted, at first I didn't hear her because her English is the worse between the 2 of them. So I asked, "What?" to which she grits her teeth like Nicholson in The Shining and asks it again but with venom. Whoa. But that didn't make me want to write this. What did was what she asked me at the end of ‘the evening’. I got tired of waiting for her to come back to my table in order to ask her for a beer, so I went over to the cooler because Lu was at the phone and I knew I could ask her and sure enough, she said "sure, go ahead and pick one" so I did and took it back to my table. Well, at the end of the dinner, the evil one says, "You had 2 beers, didn’t you??" as she looks at me out of the corner of her eye like really suspiciously. I said, "No, I only had this one." She goes, "Yeah right, I don't believe you. You had 2." I go pale. The blood ran out of my head to my fists. I wanted to rip her head off. I said, "Ask Lu! She was right there." She doesn't take it any further. Anyway, I thought later....what the f...did I do with the second bottle then??...stick it in my pocket?...when there was a married couple seated at the table right beside me, seeing my every move because I was between them and the TV which they were watching? She made me feel like a criminal who couldn't be trusted. Anyway, she's the shorter one with the darker hair and round face and flat head. I think she wears glasses. Avoid that and you'll be ok. Lu is great. I feel sorry for her. Later, I was paying at the register and talking to Lu about her coworker from hell and the monster came out of the kitchen and walked right past me. I said, "Hey work on the attitude." She barks back before I even finished my sentence, "Yeah, haha, right!" She's got issues. The food is good. The prices are great. Lu is the best. That's all I will say. I’m really debating whether I will ever go back or not. But hey, there was a happy ending to my night. I ran into Ted Williams, the man with the golden voice, at the mall and got a signed caricature drawing from him. He's a pretty cool guy and we had...
Read moreMy husband and I have been ordering take out at China House Westerville Road for almost a decade. Mala Chicken plus Beef extra spicy with fried rice and Sesame Chicken with fried rice and steamed dumplings with extra sauce. Tonight 9/26/24 we ordered our usual after about a month and a half since we were able to get it. See, we moved to the Northwest side of town and it was a bit of a trek to go get it but when you love good food you got to go. Well they have changed ownership and somehow my food was overcooked and undercooked and my husbands food was just dry and blain even though it was covered in sauce. We sought a refund and an explanation but only got an explanation. Because they are under new management the food is now not fit for human consumption! Plus they refused a refund because when I called to ask for a refund they said that they would if we came back in but they didn’t ask for the food back. I threw it into the garbage...
Read moreTakeout review. Was at Aldi's and hubs and I were hungry so decided to get some Chinese food. Was not expecting much here but LET ME TELL YOU! They have Beef Chow Fun here!!! I've been craving that for weeks cause can't get that around my area! Was about to just make it myself too! They speak both Canto and Mando here too! Took us 30 mins before we could eat it so it may not be a great critique of what it would be. My craving of beef chow fun was slightly disappointing as it wasn't as "wok hei" as I would prefer and a bit too "wet", but it still took the hankering away. Hubs got his usual sweet and sour pork which was really good, even had pineapples which he says most places don't offer. If we visit that area again or my parents visit, I would totally come back here for some traditional Chinese family...
