Hilda's Uniform Shop — Local services in Compton

I went to Hilda’s Uniform Shop on a Saturday to buy sweaters, pants, and tops for my son. I also paid extra to have his school logo and name embroidered on the sweaters. They told me the sweaters would be ready by Wednesday, and my receipt clearly stated that.

On Wednesday, I took time off work to pick them up. When I arrived, the sales associate couldn’t find my order and accused me of coming on the wrong day—despite my receipt saying otherwise. No one apologized for the mistake. They started embroidering the sweaters while I was there, so I decided to wait since I had already made the trip.

When they were done, I noticed immediately that the first letter of my son’s last name was lowercase instead of uppercase. I brought it up, but the associate just shrugged and said, “That’s how the machine did it,” with no apology or offer to fix it. I asked for a refund or discount, and was told “no” without hesitation.

I left feeling upset, but came back a few minutes later to speak with a manager. Another employee was slightly more helpful and offered to fix it—but the embroidery machine was broken, so I’d have to come back again. I asked again for a refund or discount for the inconvenience of now having to make a third trip, and they refused again.

I went in to buy my daughters uniform and at first i said its a bit pricy but i needed them so i ended up getting one short sleeve one long sleeve and one pants and one skirt i was having issues with my internet connection so i asked the lady in the front if i can go out then in so i can pay with apple pay when i cane back she had bagged the items already so i ended up leaving i was busy all day once the night came my husband cane home and i was showing him the items however one of the shirts were missing i contacted Hilda's and she said i needed my original receipt to view the transaction i by then didn't have it i asked her if she can check her system or even the cameras she insisted she can only do it with the original receipt never did i think they would be so dishonest and take one of the shirts out i was so disappointed that even when i explained that they can check their cameras she wasn't cooperative in helping to fix what...

The fabric quality of all uniforms is excellent. I was hesitant to come here at first but since Target and Fallas didn't have enough of the sizes we needed (my son is tall), we decided to try somewhere else. Oh boy am I glad! You get very nice service from the moment you step in the store. I found it weird that they have to buzz you in to get in, maybe because of its location, but once you get past that first "tight security" impression, the service and attention more than makes up for it. The fabrics have excellent quality, I can tell I won't have to be buying more pants and shirts for my kid mid-year due to wear and tear.
