Great experience, a near miracle really. Kyle was able to amazingly repair our son's iPad that was accidentally stepped on and bent (see pictures-we didn't have much hope before speaking with him). We stopped in while traveling, and within about an hour and a half, he fixed the touchscreen, replaced the battery and the back of the ipad case (since the old one was bent), while keeping all the internals and still had the finger ID work (which apparently is tricky to pull off) without issue.
We even saved the LCD screen that was warped from the damage. It was literally bent coming out of the old case. Bent and still working. Yes again, bent, behind the spidered touchscreen. He was able to get it back flat, sealed behind the new touch screen, and functioning without any lost pixels. That shouldn't really be possible, but it was. On some screens (not all) you can vaguely see a bit of memory/hue difference from the location of the bend and the initial damage. However, there are zero pixels out. It's generally hard to notice if you're not looking for it (it took us two days to see it), and entirely unnoticeable on most screens. It's now been over a week, and everything is still working great.
The price was very fair, and he completed the job immediately, as he knew we were in a time crunch. I'd definitely go back if we need more repairs. I mean seriously, look at the before and after pictures. The initial photos show the destroyed and bent condition and the last shows how it looks now. My son's been playing with it like nothing happened. Much cheaper than a new one, and he has all his data without having to transfer it over (and probably losing some that wouldn't move in that case) since Kyle was able to save all of the relevant internals.
Wow! Looking at where we started and ended up, we're stunned at how well it was fixed. You couldn't tell this device was ever broken, and from the pictures, I think you can see why we initially though it couldn't be saved.
If you're looking to save a device, give Kyle and this business a try. If you're experience is anything like ours, you'll be...
Read moreOkay so we will start with the good and then move into the not so good, and then why I’m giving the rating that I am.
Here’s some background information on the situation: My ipad started to experience charging issues about a month ago where my iPad charging port would not detect a charger cable in it, so it wouldn’t charge at all. I am someone who relies on my iPad to make a livelihood. I use my iPad every single day, so for my iPad to be down and out, I’m losing substantial money. This is a vital piece of equipment that I take very good care of.
I brought my iPad to Kyle; he took my iPad and immediately started working on it. Kyle identified the problem, repaired the problem, and he even problem solved to avoid any future issues. He sold me extra equipment and told me what to do to prevent any future issues. I had my iPad back in working condition a few hours later. Everything is good at this point.
Not long after the repair, my iPad needed to be rebooted to get it to charge, and it went through this issue for about 2-3 weeks before the charging port completely stopped working again. The same issue I brought the iPad in for, was occurring again, even after following specific commands, and buying additional equipment to ensure that this issue does not happen again.
The reason why I’m giving a 1 star rating is because I paid Kyle $750 for this repair and it didn’t last even a month. I have since reached out to Kyle in regards to this for him to not respond to me at all. For the price that I paid, I could've just replaced the iPad and while I’m not entitled, I’d expect for him to at least double check the repair, especially for 3/4’s of a grand. Nothing. At this point, I can’t justify putting anymore money into the iPad.
With the $750 repair not lasting, replacing the iPad, and missing work due to my iPad not being functional, I’ve been set...
