This Food Lion is new to me as I just moved and it is now along my normal route. Based on today's visit, I will shop at another Food Lion. Today while in the store, I picked up a 12 count container of cherry fruit bites from the bakery dept. I specifically picked out a container with bites that looked darker/more baked vs the light undercooked looking ones. But I noticed my container and a number of others had the wrong label on them. Instead of being labeled 12 ct cherry fruit bites, they were labeled 4 count cherry turnovers. I figured they could take care of the price at the register. When I got to the register, I showed the cashier the sales paper ad for the buy one get one free 12 ct fruit bites and noted that the container I picked up was mis-labeled 4 ct cherry turnover (which was clear to see). The cashier rang up the fruit bites (which had a 4 ct cherry turnover price tag) and told me it took .50 cents off. I mentioned the b1g1 again for the fruit bites and she called the woman from customer service over (who came and reminded me that they were b1g1 and seemed to suggest that I needed to get 2 to get the deal.) I told her that was ok. I didn't want them at all then. She started to walk off with container when I remembered and saw that the paper noted that a single item would ring up at half price. She should have known that, but I mentioned it to her as she walked away. So she went to get a properly priced container. While she was gone, the cashier said, "Well I get the free one even if I don't need it. If my grandkids come over then I have something for them to snack on...." I told her I only wanted one container. Not that I needed to explain beyond that but I simply told her it was just me and I didn't need nor want 2 containers of fruit bites. Geez....I've never had store employees try to get me to buy or make me feel bad about not buying 2 items in a b1g1 offer. So the customer service clerk came back with a 12 ct cherry fruit bite container that was properly labeled/priced. (But I'll note that the bites were very light and under-baked looking.) The cashier removed the 4 ct cherry turnover charge and rang up the container of 12 ct fruit bites. The customer service clerk then proceeded to put the properly labeled/priced container of the under-baked looking bites in my bag. I asked her if I could have the 12 ct container in her other hand (which was the darker looking fruit bites I had selected). She refused and walked away. I didn't fight it because I had held up the woman behind me long enough (and apologized to her for that). It was such a ridiculous encounter. If I had been in another Food Lion, I'm sure the cashier would have looked at the sales paper ad and looked at the container and acknowledged that the 12 ct container had the wrong label and would have manually rung them up...Worst case, the cashier would have gone or had somebody go get a properly priced container and rung that up but let me leave with the container I wanted. Not planning on stopping at this Food Lion again. Glad there's a nicer one closer...
Read more3 stars only because of the employees that are very nice and helpful are great! This is my neighborhood food lion I’ve went to since I was a kid, they have a lot of new employees in there and as I was checking out a few minutes ago there were two employees standing in the front just talking about another employee and cursing up a storm infront of everyone, loud enough for everyone to hear them also, very strong curse words at that. The lady checking me out was so embarrassed by her co workers she could hardly even look me in the eye or talk. She was just as shocked as I was bless her heart. Not to mention, when I entered I went to the customer service side to get to the dairy aisle faster. When I was turning the corner near the deli two employees walked out of the office and just cut me off and blocked me. Didn’t even acknowledge me and continued talking as if I was not even there. So I turned around and cut through at the opposite side of the store. A few weeks ago my husband and a young employee named Dylan had a alteration due to Dylan literally throwing my groceries and slinging them so bad to the point that my groceries that were in boxes were being crushed and opened at the seams, bread was smushed long story short, this is a wonderful location but they need to look deep into the new employees that are being hired. They are making the corporation look very badly and the senior employees that have been there for a while are starting to look as if they aren’t enjoying their jobs anymore...
Read moreWell to be real honest with you'll I really be doing mine grocery shopping at foodlion because I always thought that their prices were pretty good cause I really been doing mine grocery shopping at foodlion for the past 3 or 4 years until recently I started checking out other grocery shopping centers and find out that walmart got better deals with all of their merchandise plus more variety and lower prices than foodlion. And I think that it was good for me to start looking around town for more ways to save a buck almost in every Item that you be getting for the use of your household. and use it in other things that you might really have a real important need of either your own self or a family member or a good friend or a real good brother or sister from the congregation of the holy church of our Lord and savior JESUS Christ our gracious and mighty king of kings and Lord of lords from everlasting to everlasting and forever more beyond...
