As a member of Stanley Combative’s, I have enjoyed my time training with the dedicated staff in a great facility. Whether you are looking to get in shape, or learning how to protect yourself, Stanley Combative’s is a one stop shop. They have all the necessary equipment, and support to help you not only train, but to get in shape as well. They will show you around the facility, and afterwards do not pressure you into joining their establishment. Tthere is no contract with small print which would preclude you from leaving your membership when ready.
Once a member, you will be hooked after the first time you take a training session with any of the coaches. My coach Brian Stanley, has been extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. He takes the time to teach you techniques, while guiding you to master those during the session. At other gyms you may find trainers who talk excessively during the session limiting your workout, but at Stanley Combative’s, it’s all about putting in the work, and training hard.
Whether you are new to fighting and self-defense, or have trained previous, Stanley Combative’s is the place for you. Once you visit Stanley Combative’s you too will see what I have, there is no BS, they are not in it for the money, but are there to share their passion, and train you to...
Read moreI stumbled upon Brian Stanley, Kru Brian - Stanley Combatives, from hearing him on 98 Rock, The Morning Show with Justin, Scott, and Spiegel, talking about Fred Mastro (someone I had been following on YouTube for awhile, and always wanted to learn from). I thought to myself "maybe I'll reach out to him...what do I have to lose...probably won't hear from him anyway".
I got a call from Brian the same day. Within a half hour of talking with him, his humility helped dilute my "shock and awe", we set up our first private lesson, met the following week, and I fell in love with his teachings.
Since then, and quickly-after to be honest, Brian became a mentor, a role model, a friend, a best friend, a brother, my family. His humility only has one challenger and that is his expertise. You won't hear it from him, because he is still, and always be, a student in his eyes....again, "humble city".
His gym and his team are the best!! Whether you are a beginner or an expert, his team, his family, is the one to seek. There is a broad range of classes based on skill, broad areas of teachings (Muay Thai, Filipino Dirty Boxing [Santukan/Panantukan], and -THE FIRST- U.S. Representative of Mastro Defense System, MDS Maryland), and a family, one-for-all-all-for-one mentality. One would be foolish to not seek Brian and...
Read moreStanley Combatives is the perfect gym in which to train combat sports. The environment is exceedingly welcoming and family friendly. Brian Stanley is extremely well-trained, knowledgeable, passionate, and kind. He has created an environment that focuses on being humble warriors and respecting all but fearing none. The encouraging energy is created by instructors and fellow teammates. The vibes of the gym resemble that of a close-knit team, and we consider ourselves a family that opens its arms to anyone who wants to put in the work and learn something new. With that being said, everyone at the gym likes to have a good time and classes are often accompanied with laughs. Stanley Combatives currently offers a variety of class options including Muay Thai, BJJ, conditioning, and street self-defense. Personally, I had never trained any kind of combat sports before joining the gym, but I enjoyed it from the moment I stepped on the mat. 10/10 cannot recommend enough-...
