I'm a little bit torn on my experience Books-A-Million yesterday 10:13:25 they used to have places where you could go and sit down and have coffee and enjoy your time it looks a million but they've done away with that and since I'm disabled and I have real bad back problem it's hard for me to stand for long periods of time and peruse around and look at the books so I was in a lot of pain by the time I left and when I went to check out they were trying to sell me a package for discounts and when I said I didn't want it I was then met with will have a nice day very dryly wasn't giving anything to carry my items out in it was just I felt like I was just dismissed so I don't think I'll go back to Books-A-Million so I'm going to get anything I'll just order it online and have it sent to my house. Now the young lady that was working she was amazing I loved how she talked to me she asked me if I found everything I needed we had a good rapport but the gentleman that checked me out was very dry when I said I wasn't going to take the buy discount package so that really disappointed me I would have given it a higher score but I just...

As a book lover, I could spend hours in this store! It's well organized, clean and has just about anything you could want. If you don't want to pay full price for a book, they have discounts for being a BAM member where you can get up to 40% off in some cases. If you don't want to be a member, there are plenty of Bargain Books to browse through in the back. I got a book that retails for $18.99 for only $3 yesterday! There are places to sit and read if you want to do that. Lots of children's books and other things. There is a coffee shop in the store. They are requiring masks right now, and actually made an announcement while I was shopping because apparently someone had come in and then taken their mask off. They reminded customers that they required masks to be worn at all times. The young lady who checked me out was very nice. She asked me if I would like to add a bag of coffee to my order for our troops overseas, and I thought that was very cool because I have a nephew who is in the Army....

UPDATE: IT IS NOW MAY 5TH AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE BOOK I ORDERED IN FEBRUARY! I placed an order online in February, got 2 of my books pretty quickly. 1 of my books was a pre-order so I wasn't expecting it any time soon. The 4th one was listed as available (was released in 2016) but it has never came in. Contacted customer service via email several times to be told it's on pre-order, or it hadn't been published yet, or publication date had been pushed back, this may be true on the pre-order but NOT THE ONE PUBLISHED IN 2016! Finally out of desperation & frustration I decided to contact the Cookeville BAM. I talked to a young lady named Julie or Julia (sorry I can't remember which one), she was AMAZING! In less than 10 mins she had my info & had called me back letting me know the warehouse was waiting to get more of the book I ordered. If I could give her 10...

This review isn’t aimed at the store itself or the employees—who, by the way, are doing their best—but at Books-A-Million as a company. You mean to tell me you're pulling in nearly half a billion dollars in revenue ($474.1 million, to be exact), and you're still paying most of your workers under $10 an hour? Are you serious?? In this economy? That’s not just out of touch, it’s downright insulting. No one can survive, let alone live, on that. It’s pure corporate greed—hoard the profits at the top and throw scraps to the people who actually run your stores. If you can afford to sell $30 coffee table books and overpriced journals, you can afford to pay your workers a living wage. Shame on you, honestly. It's not just bad business—it's heartless.

Got some amazing books here, my favorite place on Midgard. All of the employees are nice and energetic, and the coffee shop doesn't kick me out for reading books I don't own and buying nothing. 🤣 Keep up the great work.
