Dollar General — Local services in Cookeville

Called to see if they had helium to inflate balloons before I got there so I went straight in to buy the ones I wanted them to inflate. A pack of 6 latex balloons and 1 large, clear birthday balloon. Paid the $2 each to have them inflated. So, $14 to inflate them total, not including the cost of the balloons themselves.

The man said there was "bad news" and that I needed to buy string because they don't supply the string. He said they were in aisle 7. I looked but didn't see any balloon string. He rudely walked me over there and pointed to thick, pink ribbon. No. I'm not paying another $5+ to have my balloons tied off with fancy ribbon! Ridiculous. This guy's attitude was piss poor and obviously had very little training or knowledge so I just said I wanted the refund so I could go to Party City. Told me the printer didn't print the receipt so he couldn't refund me. Told me it was corporate who won't allow returns without a receipt and to take it up with them. I was forced to go back, buy some brown twine for him to tie off the balloons with. While he's inflating, he lost grip of one of the 6 balloons and he popped another one. Told me, "Bad news. You paid for 6 balloons but it only had 4 in the package. Go get another package for me. You won't be charged for it." I get another package. I AM SEETHING, by the way. He brings out my "inflated balloons"... he didn't tie off the balloons before he put the string on. They were deflated by the time I got back across town in 7 minutes. The string looked ridiculous... FOURTEEN DOLLARS FOR HELIUM and he didn't know how to air the balloons up or tie them off or add string. Needless to say, I had no balloons for the birthday girl because Party City had closed. This guy's attitude was cocky and completely chauvinistic. His pants were also falling down as he walked, exposing his bare rear.

Did I mention he didn't even give me back the rest of the string I was forced to purchase? The package had white, beige, brown and black string/twine. He decided to use the brown and black for clear balloons... and kept the rest of my unused string.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Yeah, think I'm done with DG...

Dollar General offers cash back but every time I go here I can never get cash back So before I go I have to call every time to ask if I can get cash back and one of the ladies who has worked there for a long time is the rudest person I've ever met and I don't know how she even still works there. I know that she had to have had complaints before because I've stood in line and watch her be rude to people in front of me over and over. I have to be back if 4:00 a.m. she was screaming we're closing in 2 minutes she was yelling you don't have time to get what you need and that was to other people not me. So she's not just rude to me but she's rude to anyone who...

They would not sale me the 10 dollar phone that was in paper they had one and I had been to ever dollar store I could think of trying find my daughter one for her bday it was about 830pm that nite when I funnily found one they said they wouldn't sale it to me because sale was over at 8pm .that is so wrong if a store is having a sale then if they still have the product it should stay on sale until the store closes.i was in tears heartbroken cause I am disable I don't often find a good deal like that.is there anyway you could help a lil girl out for her bday that would be one...
