If I could give this place 0 stars I would, but the only reason why it deserves even one star is because of my teacher, Mrs. Jennifer in the Nail Tech program. She is one of the only good people in the entire school. Most of the teachers and even the front desk people are super sweet too. The place is ran terribly by whoever owns the place though, they tried to instill quiet a few ridiculous rules in only the 5 months I was there, and they will lie to new students faces just to get them to enroll. We were told when we started that the state board tests would be paid for the first time you take them, but we weren't told that they stopped doing that A WHOLE YEAR AGO until maybe a month or two before I graduated. When one of my classmates asked if they were going to inform the new students trying to enroll that their state board tests wouldn't be paid for, they told us no and that they will keep on lying to the new students. It's all a huge money grab for the people who own the place. And the place is filled with nothing but drama. All of the weird and ridiculous rules they tried to make were all because of a couple of whiny students complaining about not getting their way about certain things and ruining things for everyone else. Like come on, everyone that goes there are adults, you'd think they'd know how to act like adults. Don't get me wrong, I love and absolutely adore most of the students and teachers that are there, but if you don't like drama, definitely don't go to this school. A couple of students got mad at me for wearing a LONG SLEEVE TURTLENECK SHIRT and a Skirt with some boots to my GRADUATION DAY and actually took PICTURES of me and sent them to the director. I even asked for permission first that morning before I even came in if it would be ok for me to wear that. Where is the common decency at? The entire time I was there never did I once even talk to anyone outside of my class except for one or two really nice people in cosmotolegy and one really nice girl in esthetics. The rest of the time I sat in my class room and did my work and even ate in my car during lunch, so I dont know how I managed to piss someone off on my graduation day enough to take pictures of me because of what I was wearing. Guess I looked too good or smth lol. Could've at least let me pose first. đ¤Łđ¤ˇââď¸ But anyways, the Nail Tech Program is pretty chill though. Overall, don't go to this school, its ass, unless your going to the Nail Tech Program. But even then, its not worth going into...
Read moreIâve thought long and hard about writing this review and the truth is I believe future potential students should know how this school really is. I graduated in December 2024. From the esthetics program. If you are wanting to pursue a career in LASH EXTENSIONS do not go here. They say they âteachâ lashes but they do not. You just have access to the supplies and can âpracticeâ but you donât get taught the first thing about techniques and different types and styles of lashes. Lashes was one of the main reason I enrolled and was disappointed once I realized we wouldnât get the education on them I had thought and been told. Also, the bathrooms are broken at LEAST once a week, and to be honest they just make up rules as they go. We did have casual Fridays but they took those away and you could also wear a regular plain shirt with scrub bottoms but then they said strictly scrubs. One day itâs okay to wear a jacket and the next you can only wear an under shirt under your scrubs. We were also told the entire time I was enrolled (7 months) that we could come back to practice mock for state board and the day before i graduated they changed that rule as well and I wasnât allowed to go back to practice, however, they let certain students come back (secretly, favoritism) and get the extra practice. Overall, I had a really good teacher (Mrs Heather) but if I could go back and pick a different school, I would in...
Read moreUPDATE BELOW: The worst experience. There was a location in Alabama, I went to it back in 2016. I am currently a sophomore in my local community college. Back on August 21, 2024 I found out that I needed a transcript from Genesis. I have been calling a few times a week to get the transcript sent over; here it is Oct. 13, 2024, second term is about to start and Genesis still has NOT sent the transcript. I was removed from classes back in August and was told that I could start the second term as long as I have that transcript sent over. The office says there is only 1 lady who has access yet she has failed miserably at this simple request. I have worked hard in school, I have been invited to join an Honor's Society, I have made Dean's list, among other things. She could even email the transcript, I left the email with her receptionist after talking to my school.
UPDATE: It is December 5, 2024. They sent it!!! Mrs. Colleen is the BEST! I did think I had been forgotten about, but lo and behold Mrs. Colleen never forgot me, and they found my transcript sent it over so I will now be all set for Spring!! I am leaving the original review just to show that even though I was seeing things negatively in the moment, letting go of what is out of my control, did indeed pay off. Hang in there to anyone reading this and going through a rough patch, it doesn't stay...
