Jay is insecure of his skills and has a lot of anger, blames customers for minor adjustments…
I came back here after my first experience with Jay. He was very pleasant and gave me a good cut. This time was a completely different experience.
After I told him I wanted a small adjustment to be more like the picture I showed him, his attitude flipped. He said I have to show him a picture next time (which I did) and accused me of being difficult. I calmly asked him if I offended him, and he said “do you want me to give you a haircut or not”.
After he finished cutting my hair I told him how I liked him and his cut the first time but how he spoke to me isn’t how to treat a customer. He insisted I was being difficult and said again if I don’t like how he cuts, find a different barber. I re-affirmed how that’s the wrong attitude and his response was an “okay” with a tone of not not caring about what I’m saying at all.
Overall I got the impression that he’s insecure of his skills or had some bad experiences and doesn’t know how to deal with anger. After looking at the responses of this location to negative reviews which just says “thanks for your support”, I get the impression that the entire location doesn’t know how to handle feedback.
It’s a shame, seemed like a nice person. I wish him well but I won’t be returning nor do I recommend anyone else go to him.
If you think you might ask for a minor adjustment in what he does, I would take Jay’s advice, go to another barber, or better yet,...
Read moreCame in for a nape undercut and showed them a picture of exactly what I wanted. Looked ok looking in the mirror, but when I got to the car and had my boyfriend take a picture it looks HORRIBLE. I literally started crying it looked so bad. It looked nothing like what I showed the barber (and he said he could do it) it's super uneven, way shorter than the picture, so now I'm having my boyfriend just shave the entire area off because I'm embarrassed to go in public with this, and he's going to basically have to shave down to the skin because of how short the kid cut it. I'm so disappointed since this place had glowing reviews and wonderful pictures, but literally made a dispicable mess out of my head.
Update: next day, and I still have welts on my neck from getting cut too close to the skin. They said to contact customer service, but after this experience, I have no intentions of entering the establishment again. Make sure you ask for someone with a little more experience when you go; I guess is was my mistake not to.
Update #2: still can't wear my hair up because of the welts and scratches the barber here gave me. Maybe they should make sure their boys can do things without inflicting physical damage before letting them cut...
Read moreThe worst experience I have ever had at a Barber in my 55 years. This was my first and last visit and I would caution anyone from making the same mistake I just did. When I sat in the chair and the barber never greeted me (Red flag #1) because he was busy talking to someone else. After a few minutes he asked me what I wanted and I told him the usual style I like and I wanted my beard trimmed. I was never facing the mirror (red flag #2) so I never got to see what he was doing until it was too late. He started clipping my hair but then oddly immediately moved to my beard (red flag #3). It want until 5 minutes later that I realized he was shaving off my beard. I take pride in my beard, when I confronted him his response was "my bad". I am infuriated, I ended up walking out. Looking back at all the red flags I should add that the place is not professional looking or acting. Don't let the staged pictures above fool you. Don't be me, if you go here you do so at your own risk, you have been warned. Lastly everyone speaks Spanish (red flag #3), so if you don't you won't feel comfortable here. I will be checking into their...
