In the attempt to return to the religion of my childhood I visited the parish office to ask to speak with a priest. Father Isaac was offered to me and I sat down and explained my whole life situation, now being 72 years old. Father Isaac misled me from day one, and then rebuked me when I did exactly what he told me to do. I did confession with him in his office which after almost 50 years away from the church he cut me off and sent me away with a cheap plastic rosary and a sign of the cross. I felt very uncomfortable with the situation I had not yet unburden myself of my sins. I contacted the monsignor and he was willing to sit down with me and hear me or told me to go back to father Isaac and tell him how I feel. This past Sunday I did exactly that and before I got five words out of my mouth for that Isaac put up his hands and said “I must defend myself” and they’re right in front of the church entrance repression is about me he began to lambaste me telling me this is the way it is in the Catholic Church if you don’t like it it’s under etc. needless to say I will not be returning not only not returning to Saint Andrews with the Catholic Church is a hole. The response that he offered me was not Christlike whatsoever. I’m sure Christ would’ve said “I am so sorry my son that I offended you how may I make it right?” instead of trying to “defend himself“. He is clearly a very sick man emotionally psychologically. I would not sit under his guidance nor offer him my confession. He is a beast disguised as A man of God. May God have mercy on his soul and may all those who seek the truth @run not walk” away from the church and especially...
Read more💖 I am not Catholic and have not attended a mass here. I found out about this lovely parish by fate. I was just looking for a place to volunteer and lend a helping hand. Religion and politics aside, this church goes out of its way to be proactive and present for the community. My favorite memory is volunteering for their annual Thanksgiving dinner. They go all out and beyond for everyone and anyone needing a place, and plate to feel comforted when they have no where else to go, or the means to have a family style gathering on that day. It's so organize and filled with so much love. You will leave there feeling this great energy. Also, the church itself is beautiful and in a perfect location in Springs. If your looking for volunteering opportunities or a place of worship, this is the place...
Read moreI’ve been going to this church for two years, about a year ago is when I started to come more frequently. As a black young woman it was hard at first accepting my faith and accepting that the Catholic Church is the full truth. I’ve grown to love what my faith is and what this church represents. I go to 11:30 mass and no matter who’s the priest my spirit is always fed with knowledge and the word of God. Confessions on Saturday are lovely I recommend coming 20 minutes earlier and waiting inside the main church to reflect.
I seen a google review of a man saying he doesn’t agree with “receiving the eucharist on the hand or woman not veiling” and both are optional :) we are allowed to receive on the tongue and woman are not obligated to veil.
I do pray we get a kneeler at mass for...
