If there was a such thing as a standing ovation in the written form, this review on behalf of Kristin Vincent and Xpress Yourself Dance Studio is just that! An artistic visionary, Ms. Kristin created a student-centric studio that dances to its own beat—inspiring the next generation to “Xpress” themselves and take center stage in all they do. She does so by “tapping” into her students’ potential, creating first-place champions by championing each student’s individual strengths, first and foremost. Ms. Kristin enjoys “disco”-vering what makes each student special and really gets the “pointe” of it all: that dance is about the showmanship and “Xpression” of one’s physical, intellectual, and athletic abilities; and inner sense of self—via the art, science, and sport of dance. Such was the case with our family. At four years old, my daughter had taught herself how to cartwheel, handstand, and even read. She had a natural zeal for learning, proactively taking on challenges and then relishing in the fulfillment of them—both academic and athletic. It got to a point where her cartwheels advanced to running roundoffs down the aisles of Publix—and needed an Xpert to properly harness her talents. Enter Ms. Kirstin—who Xcites and challenges her dancers with sophisticated choreography requiring complex memorization and execution—making her students think and push themselves intellectually and physically, in direct alignment with what we were seeking for our daughter. And judging by all the trophies adorning the outside of her studio, I knew was Xperienced at turning raw skills and unwavering ambition into showstopping talent at the highest level. Ms. Kristin turned our impassioned and inspired young dancer with a natural competitive thirst into an Xcelling national dance champion—with a professional dance scholarship under her belt (or shall I say costume) and all the accompanying confidence, pride, and sense of accomplishment that come with that first place titleship. I’m sharing our family’s story to Xpress our abun-DANCE of gratitude and share how Xtraordinary XY and Ms. Kristin are! Her approach is reflected in the “rumba”-lievable way she manages her studio. Because rather than simply “run” it, Ms. Kristin raises the “barre,” employing a more graceful form of movement when it comes to properly placing dancers in the right classes. She partners—waltzes—with parents, employing a step-by-step approach that is comprehensive and cutting-edge—geared to the rhythm of each family and in-sync with parents’ specific goals for their children. It’s only then, after correctly identifying each dancer’s individual abilities, ambitions, and aspirations, that Ms. Kristin then does what she does best: choreograph. A creative powerhouse, Ms. Kristin parlays what she learns about each student and choreographs step-by-step roadmaps for each dancer. It’s as if she inputs all of the attributes she learns about each student into a proprietary algorithm that then spins (or shall I say twirls…no make that pirouettes) out the perfect plan that will enable each dancer’s star power to soar and shine bright for all to Xperience. Only this proprietary algorithm is none other than the brilliance of Kristin’s decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, instructor, business owner, wife, and mother of three herself. Ms. Kristin knows “all that jazz” of the dance world that enable her to “turn out” star dancer after star dancer. But don’t take my word for it. If you’re looking to “jive” into a world of dance where fun, friendship and family are the true X-factor of its being: don’t “cha-cha-cha” look any further. If you’re looking for a dance home where you feel a sense of connectedness, community, and camaraderie; where when you walk through its doors you are greeted by genuine kindness, inviting smiles, warm hugs, dedicated students, second-to-none talent, supportive families, and other people like you looking to form lifelong friendships among multiple generations of kids, parents, and dance families—all I’ll say is “X” really does...
Read moreI signed my daughter for hip hop class and the lace only cares about their ballet and classical dancers. No importance given to hip hop. she started with one teacher and over night they had a new teacher after they began recital rehearsals. The new teacher never communicated with parents nor even greeted parents. After a month of rehearsal the teacher made my 12 year old feel uncomfortable and insecure to the point where she did not want to return to class nor be in recital. Inspire with the manager Cassandra who said she would speak with the teacher but that only made it worse and my daughter did not want to return. Not only are their teachers not equipped to work with children, but they charged me for the next month that she would not be attending plus recital fees which the owner Kris refused to refund!!!!! Very unprofessional and money hungry place…. No caring just...
Read moreMy daughter danced at Xpress Yourself for almost a decade! She received excellent training from Kristin and the rest of her staff and the dance studio became a second family. Her closest friends came out of dance and my closest friends also came from the wonderful parents! The training that my daughter received was so amazing that she is now teaching at a studio in Texas where she goes to college. The studio in Texas values her knowledge and has her working with all of their pre-co students. Xpress Yourself is a high quality studio that teaches hard work, and more importantly good ethics! Thank you to Kristin and her staff for all the wonderful years at Xpress...
