Updated post 9/13/2023: Although the company requested my info, they never contacted me, so I had to deal with this issue via my credit card company. They did their research, and as I understand it, reached out to the company, but I wasn't provided any detailed information. In the end, I received a credit and recovered my money, but the hassles dealing with a company that doesn't respond to phone calls or emails took a lot of my time. Still a 1 star rating and I encourage all to avoid doing any business with this company. Updated post 7/25/2023: As requested by the owner in his reply to my original review of 7/12/2023, I provided my order number on 7/12/2023. Today is 7/25/2023 and still no contact from the company even though they have my email address, phone number and pictures showing that the slings they sent were not the measurements requested. Updated post 7/12/2023: The owner has responded to my review asking that I provide an order number, which is #200124. Per the company's policy stated on their website, I'm asking for a return/refund since the mistake was the company's mistake. Due to the time-sensitive nature of my project, and the lack of American Slings' response to my emails and phone calls, I had to obtain slings from a reputable company to meet the project deadline. Despite diligently following their instructional video on how to measure for the Swivel Rocker Two Piece Sling chairs, I encountered a frustrating obstacle upon receipt of my order. Despite numerous attempts to seek assistance from American Sling, their responsiveness drastically declined post-purchase, leaving me feeling abandoned and disregarded.
Even after managing to reach someone, their proposed solution only added to my frustration. I was advised to purchase wider backs due to my welded rails, a crucial detail only mentioned at the end of their very long 4 and a half minute video. I watched the video for the first minute and a half until I found my chairs. There is no mention of welded backs. This lack of clarity suggests either a gross oversight on their part or a deliberate attempt to upsell additional products.
Reluctantly, I complied with their recommendation and placed another order, only to receive two bottoms instead of 4 backs. This error further underscores their disregard for customer satisfaction. Despite my repeated attempts to rectify the situation through various communication channels, I have been met with nothing but silence. No one answers their phone, text messages, or web forms.
Ultimately, my interactions with American Sling have left me disillusioned and disheartened. It's evident that their priorities lie solely in maximizing profits rather than prioritizing customer care. Read moreSTAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Zero stars. I placed an on-line order for 2 slings with a length of 47 ¼” and on 6/17/2023 I received two slings that were 48” in length. I called the company on 6/23/2023 and spoke with Tony, the Customer Service Manager, who said that he would give me 30% off a subsequent order to get me the correct/requested length. They got the first order wrong, why would I pay them again to correct their original mistake? Due to 1) the company’s approach to addressing the issue via placing a subsequent order to correct their issue; and 2) that the slings were related to a time-sensitive project; and 3) that the company’s return policy as stated on their website page of “All slings and pre-cut straps are custom cut and ARE NOT CANCELABLE or returnable unless American Slings and Patio Supplies is responsible for the mistake”, I requested a refund since the company was responsible for the mistake. Tony contradicted the company’s stated policy and said that there were no returns. Tony stated that he would talk to the owner and get back to me within 5 business days. That time has since expired and the company hasn’t responded to multiple emails, and when you call, you don’t have the option to speak with someone real-time.
