If I could give a negative-star rating I would. Zero-integrity, misleading and fraudulent business practices, does not stand behind service or repair work and unwilling to abide by their own terms & conditions you agree to. Lied to from the start, and the (likely unauthorized/untrained/uncertified) repair "technician" that is named on both my reciept AND work order, is a person who I was later told IS NOT EVEN IN THE COUNTRY, DESPITE BEING NAMED AS THE PERSON WHO DID THE "REPAIR" WORK ON MY PHONE?!?!?! While the guy who did do the work and, to my disappointment, damaged my beautiful Galaxy S23 Ultra to the point of it being deemed "unrepairable" by a differnt Ubreakifix location AND Samsung themelves who took a look at the device and did an assesment of it which, hilariously, also included the very same repair this unknown, unnamed, fraudster according to my reciept/work order, was supposed to do and, evidently, not just did incorrectly, but took out several other integral components along with it while playing the victim despite documented evidence from both the manufacturer and other Ubreakifix locations. I have never been so dissatisfied with an experience in my entire life, and I used to work as a repair technician doing phone repairs myself many years ago, so I understand that everyone makes mistakes and I myself have done the same, but the way you handle the mistake is what makes the difference in this business, and this was nothing short of absolutely disgraceful and wrong. Corporate response was not any better and the corporate person that I finally got ahold of (going on TWO MONTHS now WITHOUT my phone) after weeks and weeks of emails and reaching their (apparently broken, as they stated to me was the case in the email they sent me that stated such) voicemail machine, only for them to basically agree with my issues on a phone call, send literally one email to the store as a "mediator" (whom I would have fired had I been given the choice) only to be told that they reached out to the store, the absolutely pathetic "resolution" the store offered being nothing more than a refund for the work they never actually performed correctly in the first place (did I mention this was all out of pocket...) was offered on a take it or leave it basis and the corporate "mediator" would not/could not do anything more than tell me that due to the store being a franchise (literally try and find one in california that isnt a franchise...) and that was the maximum extent he was going to involve himself in with my case. I said they need to take a real good look at their own T&C's you sign an agreement on for their service, specifically section 10 of the agreement that states that if your device is damaged during their safekeeping while working on the device then they are to get it back to the same condition that it was in prior to them taking the device into their safekeeping or it will be replaced with a device of like kind any quality in the event it is deemed not repairable, such as with my device. If a store is not going to abide BY THEIR OWN TERMS AND CONDITIONS, then that is a very big problem. A problem of which I, to this day, not far from 3 months after the repair and without my phone, have not found any kind of solution to. Small claims court would have been the likely next step, but when the repair technician FRAUD that was named as the technician that did my repair as named on both my RECIEPT AND WORK ORDER I WAS GIVEN and in fact was NOT the person who did the work at all, and the one who did do the work told me the person named as the repair technician is NOT EVEN IN THE COUNTRY, then that means that I unfortunately cant even serve the lovely Mr KHALIL AHMED BAKHTARI with the notice to appear in small claims court, since he was never there or doing my magical repair in the first place. What a sad disgraceful way to run a business in America nowadays. Both Asurion and Ubreakifix should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such practices to continue. Very, very disappointed with...
Read moreThis is pretty long so for those who don’t want to read, I’ll cut to the chase:
Do not get your MacBook repaired here.
Im writing this here to talk about my experience at this place to ensure nobody else has to deal with it. I’m not someone that often makes reviews but I feel that my input would be useful for anyone looking to get their services here for the same thing I did.
I originally came here to repair my MacBooks screen. It wouldn’t open at certain angles and I really needed to fix it at an affordable price as I am a college student and I want to budget my things. They got it repaired for me within a few days and all was well and good, or so I thought.
Right after the repair I got to a nearby Starbucks because I was behind on my work because I didn’t have access to a computer. I found that I couldn’t connect to the internet. I thought it was an issue with the internet itself. I went to my dorm, I couldn’t connect to the internet there, I thought it was my dorms fault. I went home. I couldn’t connect to the internet.
Foolishly, I dropped it off, a little annoyed since this isn’t an issue that I cause this time. It took around 2 weeks to get it repaired. For context I need my computer for school to access certain programs for my college so this was a big deal and to this day I’m still dealing with the reproductions of this.
I call them and tell them as much and the manager apologizes and even gives me a discount for my troubles, which I still very much appreciate.
Unfortunately I still deal with computer issues that I did not cause. My computer screen gets random black squares that flash on, it’s a lot slower than it should be, and the mouse pad at times acts on its own accord, but I honestly can’t afford another repair job and I quite frankly lost my trust in this service to want to get anymore.
It seems like from the reviews though, that their specialty is iPhones and other mobile repairs. I also don’t think this was malicious and the person at the front working there was understanding and kind and did everything right since I know he’s not actually the one doing the repairs. I just think maybe repairing other products like MacBooks may not be their specialty and I think they should let people know as such.
However, I still feel cheated out of my money and I hope that anyone that needs to fix their MacBook just goes...
Read morei probably just had bad luck or something, they were the only location nearby who had my parts for my phone had in stock. paid nearly 300 for screen repair. when it was picked up my phone had no service, i called and they lost my sim card. every attempt to inquire was met with the same answer. they would look and call us back. never called back. kevin i believe was the boy's name who was helping us. After purchasing a new sim card they covered the cost of the sim card fee. However my phone wasn't able to receive service at my home since. Yet another visit, they were supposed to call me when it was checked out and repaired to pick up. they never did and had to face dreaded hwy afternoon traffic because they never called. And the phone remains in the same state, no signal in certain areas. The repair was well done though. Unfortunately I will be visiting once again because my phone may look new but it cant function in certain areas such as my work and home when it did before the repairs, im expecting to take a leave february and cant have my phone with dodgy signal. Also they found my sim card which is too little too late. In total this will be my 5th visit and the place isnt exactly close, consuming far too much fuel going back and forth. Im extremely unsatisfied.
Edit 3/8/18: during my time away, my phone somehow returned to its normal signal strength. 4g LTE all around like it used to. The problem fixed itself and although I would've liked to have known the cause i am pretty happy i can call and text without wifi again. and during my time away i was contacted numerous times by customer service and even the owner. I really felt the genuine care for getting my phone thoroughly fixed and the owner was very courteous throughout. Although there was no need to visit the shop again since my phone regained its signal strength on its own i greatly appreciated ubreakifix's efforts. Well deserved...
