I had placed an order online for the number one item on my 9 year old Son's Christmas list.... a pair of cowboy boots (I couldn't get the time to make the 45 minute to hour drive to a store due to work and my kids' activities). While I know that shipping around the holidays can be delayed, I was pleased to see that my order would still be shipped in 1-3 days this close to Christmas. After 2 days, several failed attempts to reach someone at customer service, and no order shipped conformation email, I called the Council Bluffs location to see if they could help me find out when my order will be shipped. They took my information and said they'd see what they could find out. While waiting, I was able to reach someone in the "place a new order" department, and was told it would be January 2017 before I received the boots (even though she too saw that it showed 1-3 days shipping) and apologized for the misleading information but that they couldn't cancel the order. While I was on the phone with customer service, I received a call from Mary the manager at the Council Bluffs location. I called her back and she stated I would have my order by the end of the day on DECEMBER 22nd!! They paid to have my order expedited so that we would have them before Christmas!! She was so helpful and wonderful!!! I will definitely be making the drive and taking the time to do my future business at the Council Bluffs location from now on!! Thank you so much for all of your help!!! You have helped make my Son's Christmas...
Read moreAlbeit I only had one experience in here, I wasn't particularly pleased with it.
A staff member who appears to be a manager is explaining to me how to put boots on like I'm a kid, and how I have to use these fancy tools (that I'm getting the vibe she just wants to sell me), and how I made the mistake of wearing black socks, and I should NEVER wear black socks with boots, and how the last pair of boots I bought was criminal because you should NEVER get a bigger size boot to accommodate a wider foot. Like, lady, I've been wearing those boots quite happily for two years now. They're comfortable. And I'm not going to let you tell me what I can and can't do with MY boots to be comfortable. And then she told me I was going to sign up for the rewards program when I tried to at least buy a shirt☺️ Telling me it was uber important to leave a review with that receipt code. . . I don't think she realized she probably didn't want me leaving a review through the company's system.
Overall, I felt like I was being talked down to, and definitely got the impression that these employees earn commission. I ended up driving a few hours down to St. Joe Boot Company, and was very pleased with the service I got there. Felt more like problem solving to get the boot I want than just having boots thrown at me in an attempt to get me to buy under pressure. If you're serious about getting a pair of boots, it's worth just making the...
Read moreThis should be a 5 star review, because this is a really nice store. They have a variety of western, casual, and work boots and they also sell shoes. They also have a small Carhartt section. And they sell a variety of casual clothing and outerwear. I ding them 1 star because every display in the store was meticulously neat and well stocked except for the size 14 and 15 men's boot/shoe display. They had 2 pairs of boots and 1 pair of shoes in size 14, none of the wide width. The size 15 display was completely empty. I dinged them another star because the whole time I was in the store I wasn't acknowledged or offered help beyond an initial greeting as I walked in the door. Even when I was trying on the 1 pair of size 14 shoes they had back there. I noticed another reviewer mentioned the snobbery they experienced at this store, so maybe it was that. I noticed the other customers were being well...
