What a catastrophe! I brought my part in. It was a handle for a toilet but it had more of a sprocket than the traditional arm that attaches the handle to the flap. After looking for several minutes, I asked an employee who said they didn't carry that style. As I walked away I saw a box with the flapper assembly that was special to this toilet. It said it included the handle so I grabbed it. I went to the front to see Home Depot hired a ton of new employees but not one of us were getting paid? No more paid cashiers. Self check registers as far as the eye could see. I don't work there so I asked for a cashier and was told they all called in sick. Something told me to check the box at the register and I did to find there was no handle in the box (the only part I needed). I took it back to where I got it when I should have thrown it on the floor and went to Lowe's. I grabbed another box and opened it to see a shiny new handle right on top. Now I had to decide whether to check myself out or leave with nothing. They won the battle but the war is over. I will not return. No wonder "everybody called in sick." Customer service is no longer important to these places but a few of us will shop where service is a priority even if it cost a little more. After numerous calls to customer service, I was bounced around like a holiday ornament. The associate informed me my tool bench was damaged, yet they still tried to sell me that same damaged merchandise. Brilliant! Then they assured me theyād find a store with an intact bench. Spoiler alert: they didnāt!!!
By 6 PM, I was on the phone again, explaining my saga to every representative who would listen. First, Covina sent me to Glendora, who claimed they only had one damaged bench. But waitāCovina had eight with āminor damage.ā Amazing how āminorā damage suddenly sounded like a great option!
After being told to cancel my order and buy a new one, which would mean waiting eight days for a refund, I threw in the towel. On Christmas Eve, I tried again, but when I asked to speak to the store manager Jeff said he was out sick. Without saying anything he passed the phone to a person named Lynn. Fantastic! Lynn suggested I just cancel my orderāso I did, and guess what? Still waiting for that confirmation email.

Sean specifically said to whomever he spoke with at 963 store that customer Alma is on her way to pick up the 4 filters. When I arrived at 963 address, not one of the customer service teller knew what I was talking about. I said I am Alma I am there to pick up the 4 Airfilter that was called in by Home Depot West Covina.
Sensing whoever Sean spoke to at this address did not relay that the customer is coming to pick up; I volunteered to just go to the floor and find it myself, since left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
Jeff happened to be on the floor area as I was searching, he dropped what he was doing and assisted me. He looked for the item until we found it. He made my day.
I always believe that an organization is only as good as their worst employee.
Au contraire, when an employee values customer the way Jeff did by rendering an excellent customer service, he represents the company in its entirety.
Jeff's attitude is THE ANSWER IS YES WHAT'S THE QUESTION. He did not make me feel I am cumbersome, he made me feel valued as customer.
