No wonder this branch has such a low rating. I have had a similar experience as other people and apparently they don't want to do anything about it. Last year I spoke to the manager of the branch and he was extremely helpful and kind to find my missing package. The mail person for the area lied and said that it was left at the front door. The manager found out through GPS tracking it was delivered at the parcel boxes, but probably the wrong one and told the person to look at all the parcel boxes. Magically my package appeared the next day. The same thing happened this year, but I didn't talk to the manager. When I called, the man (who usually answers the phone on the weekends) was extremely RUDE! He put me on a 3 way call with our mail person, who said it was left at my front door because it didn't fit in my parcel box. That person LIED again! While I was trying to explain that the package was extremely small, the tracking said it was delivered in a parcel box, and I didn't receive any packages on the door that day, the guy who answered the phone said, "Yeah well she answered your question and she has thousands of packages to deliver." Who says that to someone who is just trying to find their missing package?! Needles to say, the package magically appeared in my parcel box the next day. I understand that people may make mistakes, but don't lie on the phone to save your butt and then put it in my box like it was always there when it was supposed to be in my box 3 days prior. I HATE that FedEx now transfers packages to our local post office. I guess all my packages will be sent to work now, since our mail person is untrustworthy.
UPDATE for my experience in 2017
They refuse to answer the phone. Carrier put someone else's package in our parcel locker, so someone else had our package! If they answered the phone, this would have been solved quickly. But since I got hung up on twice, I was on the phone with customer service and reported this branch for continued incompetence with packages, not answering the phone, etc. Unfortunately stores I buy from do not allow me to choose a carrier, because if they would, I would definitely use someone else!
I should have learned my lesson the first time in 2016 but after my 2017 experience, I have all my packages sent to work as the post office there...

When you go to the actual P.O. the employees are downright rude....until they would like you to take YOUR valuable time to "complete the survey" about your experience! Mail carrier has screwed up my mail and packages more times than I can count, today for example...I received someone else's package and my own was NOT delivered. THEN I received a text alert saying that a delivery attempt was made, at 6:00 P.M. ! Said carrier had already been there, TWICE! So someone "ATTEMPTED" to deliver it at 6:00 P.M.?? None of this makes sense to me and I'm LIVID! I've also had MY mail delivered to the wrong box (row of businesses) and my rent statement happened to be in someone else's box. The same carrier has screwed up every business's mail in the complex...and one business had checks STOLEN because of that carriers incompetence! How much more are we supposed to take? I'm filing a complaint along with several others who are fed up! Their screw ups have cost me money, wasted time (can't get THAT back), and much inconvenience. I had to pay late fees for things because I didn't get my bills on time...because they were in a mailbox that doesn't belong to me! WHY would I think to look in any other box but my own for MY mail??? Every single employee at this location is incompetent and I advise anyone even CONSIDERING using this office, DON'T! Try the Post Office at Rouses on Hwy 190 near Big Lots. They are fast AND incredibly friendly. Unfortunately you can't do anything about who "delivers". Read moreThis has got to be the worst ran post office in the state. The one in Mandeville is amazing and world-class, but this one is so poorly run. They do have one good supervisor, Mr. John who actually cares, but he can't fix all the problems himself when his fellow supervisor Lindsay has got to be the worst employee they have ever hired there. She does absolutely nothing to resolve issues and will go out of her way to avoid helping people who have issues. Why do they even employ a person like this? They should fire her, and put someone in the office who doesn't have such a poor attitude, and is willing to help people
At this location, they constantly and fraudulently mark my packages as DELIVERED when they have never done that. I have reported stuff ro Me. John, and he normally fixes my issues. If I report it to Lindsay, she does absolutely nothing.
Update: This year they have lost several of my packages, and the supervisors refuse to help me. They just don't care, but this is acceptable because they are government employees. If they worked for any other company most of them would be unemployed.
