Edit: I no longer frequent Avor Thai due to their health inspection record. I understand that with every new restaurant there is a curveball and time is needed to adjust, however there were too many violations for me to feel comfortable eating here. I am most concerned by the fact that a mop bucket was blocking the handwashing station in the kitchen.... It is truly a shame that they did not take food safety seriously as it was delicious.

11/13/2017

--2 containers of Curry was held at 46°F, in the kitchen area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Product insufficiently iced. Product out for less than 4 hrs-placed in walk in coler. --Fried Eggs,Fried Tofu out on counter top in kitchen was held at 65 °F, in the prep line area, rather than 41°F or below as required.Product out for less than 4 hours. Product placed in reach in cooler.

--Food facility in operation more than 90 days and has not employed a certified food employee as required. Facility has 90 days to obtain Food Employee Certification. PA Dept of Agriculture website has list/contact info of Approved Food Employee Certification course providers. Correct in 90 days

--The handwash sink in the kitchen area was blocked by mop buckets, mops, hose and not accessible at all times for employee use.Corrected. Keep Handwashing sink clear and use only for handwashing. REPEAT VIOLATION. Note-unit had water shut off from valves under sink. Water handles of sink are not functioning as designed/stripped.

9/7/2017 --Noodles,cut produce, fried tofu was held at 53 °F, in the kitchen/grill prep area area, rather than 41°F or below as required.Product taken out right before lunch(2 hrs). Product placed back in refrigeration for rapid cooling.

--No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the kitchen area to remind food employees to wash their hands.(REPEAT VIOLATION.

--The handwash sink in the kitchen area was blocked by mop buckets, mops, hose and not accessible at all times for employee use.Corrected. Keep Handwashing sink clear and use only for handwashing.

--Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. Sanitizer supply bucket empty. Corrected. Rewash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, food contact surfaces prior to use(today)

The rating for this place is accurate. They serve great quality food at pretty reasonable prices and with decent portions. Yes, there are better deals, but it's good Thai food so I can't refuse it. I tried their pad see ew with tofu (0 spice) and the Thai custard with pumpkin and sticky rice.

The pad see ew was very good. They had nice, thick noodles that were excellently cooked. The texture was great, and the flavor was great as well. It was the perfect balance of savory and sweetness. Plus, unlike many place that barely use any sauce, they used the perfect amount! Good amount of tofu that was well cooked and well soaked in the delicious sauce. I would have preferred the broccoli be cooked a little longer since it was hard, though. Pretty solid portion for the price.

I've had many Thai custards before, but this is my first time trying it with pumpkin. I must say that I prefer the version without pumpkin, but this one was still good. I thought the portion seemed small, but in reality, it's fair. The pumpkin is earthy but the custard itself is sweet and delicious. Great texture of sticky rice. I wish there was more coconut milk poured on it.

All in all, a great spot for Thai food. The portions are decent and so are the prices. The food is flavorful, and I enjoyed both my dessert and the main course....

My friend and I like to try new places! We don't mind a bit of travel to do so, but this place isn't too far from home so we were excited! We went for lunch, 12:30 on a Saturday. Apon walking in we weren't even greeted. The restaurant was completely empty and the lights were mostly turned off, we thought maybe they weren't open yet. We were sat at a table that was dirty so we asked for a towel to wipe it and the person rolled their eyes but did wipe the table. I'm not going to get into detail but our server was just rude! You could tell they didn't want to be there! It felt like they were the owners child and didn't have a choice but to be there, that is sad, but that is not our fault. That may not be the case at all! But this is the first time that we have not left a tip! Ever! We are restaurant workers ourselves! So that's saying something. The food was good. Although I think they got confused on the heat levels because ours was the same heat, even though my friends tolerance for heat is much greater than mine, we switched dishes and it was the same. But good none the less. I honestly don't know if we will return. I hate leaving this review! I understand it's hard for the industry right now! But it's part of the experience that...

Wow, I was very happy I chose to stop here for lunch with a friend. It was a nice day out and the door was open and the restaurant was open and welcoming. We had no issues with finding the restaurant or with the parking as there was a large parking lot. I couldn’t decide what to order so I ordered pad Thai with chicken, a sampler appetizer, chicken satay, and a Thai iced tea. I had planned to take the leftovers home to snack on with my family. Everything was so good. My favorite was the paid Thai and the chicken satay. The first time I had Thai was at Nickeys and then in Los Angeles. The chicken satay reminded me of the kind I got in a stick at a farmers market in LA and was really tasty with the peanut sauce. I liked trying the appetizer sampler and it was good, but not something I’d want to order again due to price and finding other things I enjoyed more. I will go back and take my family as I know they’d all find something to enjoy.

My aunt and I were traveling through the area and I found this gem on maps. It is everything I hoped it would be. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing, there was ample seating yet not crowded. They do a great deal of takeout service here so we had the place to ourselves for most of the meal. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Prices were fair and the food was fantastic. They obliged us by asking our spice preferences which was wonderful especially because it was my Aunt's first time trying Thai food (she really enjoyed it BTW). I definitely recommend this place and I will keep it on my list neat time I'm in the area. Great experience.
