Gaming Paradise — Local services in Cross Lanes

Visited this store for the first time today with my husband, when we first got there we were greeted at the door by staff and were told about the bogo sale ! I’m a bargain shopper so I was excited, I feel like we could have spent hours in there and still not explored every corner of this massive store, they have everything! I picked up some Blu-rays and 2 Loungefly bags and my husband bought some games and records, along with a couple of pokemon cards he’s been looking for. We were about to checkout and overheard an employee ask a man if he needed help with anything of course we looked over and the man was towards the back reaching over the counter grabbing what looked to be cards ignoring the employee, the employee said “those aren’t priced yet I’m sorry, but we can get you a price if you found something you are wanting” and the guy said it was the best time to go through things when they haven’t been gone through by the shop yet and that he wants 2 things and he knows they go for $2 each. The employee said it was fine but that they are a retail store so they have to make a profit. The guy then got mad and said that it sounded like they don’t like making money and then yelled for “babe” to “come on” and he stormed out. That escalated fast and the employees handled it beautifully, they weren’t shaken by it at all and apologized to all of us that were still shopping. To address that I brought in "common games". I brought in all LIMITED EDITION games. Including "Dragons Crown Pro" in steelbook with unopened card pack. Complete in box, perfect condition. This ALONE is worth $35.

Next was a perfect Limited edition Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age. Steelbook. It's PERFECT condition and a good condition complete one goes between $35-$50 online.

That's just TWO games and we are already looking at $65 to $80 and the offered me $35 for 10.

This shows you the disconnect. They give you the price of the base game and dont consider if it's special edition but I guarantee that they sell it as a special edition.

Also,.I want them to do well, but as you can see from their response, they must not care that much themselves. 🤷

They give really horrible prices through some kind of "system" the prices are just as bad as GameStop. No lie.

I took in 10 games that are worth about $125 on the market today. I understand they have to make money as well, but guess what they offered me? $30.

It was a slap in the face.

Game store like this would actually BENEFIT by haggling and looking at sales prices instead of using a terrible "system". It not only insults the intelligence of the customer it creates an instant disconnect.

Great concept for a store and decent enough prices. Everything is market value so go on pricecharting and you’ll see the exact price they’ll have it for even if the case looks like a dog chewed it. The main problem is the horrendously bad ownership and this is coming from someone that worked for them for 2 years. Check every game you buy and every console because if something goes wrong with it there’s higher odds they’ll blame you or be rude about it instead of actually taking care of the problem. They don’t take accountability for their actions they point fingers and blame and it’s not how a store should be run and it’s sad that you have to force your brother and mom to work long hours for you because you can’t trust anyone to run the place. Every customer I’ve ran into that shopped there while I worked there told me the place got worse after I left and who would’ve thought?😂 The store layout constantly changes because the owner has no clue what he’s doing with all of it because most of it is junk bought off of goodwill that lines the walls in every room or it’s games that got traded in and the people that trade them in we’re likely given almost nothing for it.
