This review has been a long time coming. I would not use this business for dental care because they do not prioritize their patients or respect their time, their work is sub par requiring multiple revisits to fix, and do not adequately advise patients of optional treatment plans while waiting on insurance rollovers.
I have been a patient for several years and my child has work done here as well. We go here because they accept the insurance provided by the school system.
Today I had an appt for a tooth that needs a crown and the filling had fallen out. I drove to crosslanes, waited, made special arrangements with kids etc, only to be told my insurance was maxed.
I knew the time for insurance rollover was coming and I had to ask when that was. I then asked for an appt - which earliest is July 30th and I have 1/2 a tooth. This tooth more than likely broke down because I had to chew on the right side of my mouth after I had a crown on the left side that hurts when I chew on it. I would have gotten it readjusted but the amount of time I spend going back and forth to this dentist when I have work done or when my child has work done is unreasonable.
When I asked if there was an affordable fix until July and if there was any way to try to get it done before school starts the lady was like um I can ask the doctor?
Really? I made an appointment, arrived, need help and you’re not actively trying to help me?
I just walked out.
Currently looking for a new dentist in network and I honestly should have done this a long time ago. They don’t have their stuff together enough for people to get the treatment they need without extra time, money, and pain.
Save yourself the hassle.
Go somewhere else.
A few other notes:
For procedures they always refer to mountain state oral - and for those who work with in the school system - they are out of network. There is a dentist in Teays Valley - TV endodontics - that is in the network for teachers. Do not let them write a referral for mountain state.
For every bit of work I get - or my child gets - it’s never done right the first time. Every time we get work done here it’s always 1-2 more trips back to fix it. While this may be standard occasionally, it shouldn’t happen every visit. Be prepared for teeth not properly adjusted.
Appt availability is 0-none. They are one of the only dentists that accept teachers insurance and it’s 2 months out for an appt.
I came in for an appt - and before even seeeing me they were like let’s go over this white slip - you’re insurance is maxed. I was like ok, this could have beeen a conversation that was had on th phone instead of driving from Charleston to crosslanes to be told I have to wait until july. Check your insurance before you arrive because they will legit waste your time.
The last time my child brought attention to a tooth that needed a tiny filling - they said they were going to watch it. Well they watched it turn straight into a huge cavity that could have been prevented if they paid attention. My kiddo was like I told them about that and they didn’t pay no mind now it hurts.
I have to come here until I find a new provider - but if I were looking for a new dentist I’d pass these people right up.
So now, still have a HUGE whole in my tooth from a filling falling out. It’s more like a 1/2 of tooth and when I asked if I could have the dentist patch it up there was 0 bit of care or concern - she was just like I guess I can ask the doctor?
I guess?
I just walked out. I have been sent home from here many times with them telling me it would be ok - and it always gets worse.
So yay! More time wasted here...
Read moreI went here because it was one of the only places that took my insurance. I’ve had now 4 bad experiences there. First bad experience I had to get a cavity repaired and the dentist had a hair on her tool and was talking so much to the assistant that she didn’t notice it on it or that my mouth was over flowing with water. She then noticed my mouth and drains it so I tell her about the hair and I guess she wiped it on her glove because my front tooth now permanently has a hair strand that got smoothed down with the cavity filling. Second experience I got numbed about 4 times for one filling because they kept forgetting I was waiting. Third experience I have a cavity in one of my front teeth and do not want it pulled and expressed that with my dentist she told me she could do a root canal but it would be so much work and basically convinced me pulling is the best and only option (with her at least). Fourth experience is what made me now find a new dentist. I have state insurance and in 2021 they maxed it out but didn’t tell me and let me proceed with my appointment. In 2022 they brought it to my attention turns out it’s a billing error but when I called to get answers they wanted me to wait for billing to call me back when they were in the office. Never did I get a call back and then proceeded to do cleanings and appointments for the next two years. Today I go in for tooth pain after waiting a week for this appointment. Right then is when they bring up a balance I guess assuming I would pay it right then so they would fix my tooth. I asked why nothing was mailed to me or said or even a phone call about the bill for 3 year and they said because they left it alone since there was supposed to be a call on Friday in 2022. I left and immediately found a new dentist. You cannot wait 3 years to say something about a bill when a patient is in...
Read moreI have had THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, everytime i've not only went in for an appointment but also everytime I call the Cross Lanes office. The receptionist have been SO RUDE, short, and always have a very poor attitude on top of a "smart mouth" when I have had to call. I had a plate made there for after I seen the oral surgeon. YES, it could be my fault to an extent because my car broke down and was in the shop for three months therefore i couldnt make my original appointment but when i did, the dentures didnt fit my mouth (which i dont believe they ever would have) the arch in the roof of my mouth of that top plate was made completely wrong and "lop-sided". The female dentist told me she was throwing them away that they were trash, but i could take them if i wanted because like she said they were trash anyways. with that being said, she also told me i could go have a new mold made december 2022 - a year date from when the original mold was made. now i call and they try to tell me my insurance wont cover anything else for 5 years. SHE PERSONALLY TOLD ME THE OLD PLATE WAS TRASH AND THEY CAMT CHARGE FOR SOMETHING I CANT USE. im furious, ive been without teeth for months and im 27. it shouldnt be this difficult and i should not be going through all these issues with this office. i pray to God this whole mess gets...
