Charlie's Emporium — Local services in Crystal Falls

I lost my wallet and the owner called the cops on me. I've shopped at antique stores around the country and even helped manage one. This was by far my worst experience. A while after leaving the shop I noticed my fanny pack was open and my wallet was missing. This was alarming, especially as I was only in town visiting. I retraced my steps through the store (it's large with three floors and many rooms). I didn't spot it so I asked the owner (Charlie?) if she could check her security footage. Charlie refused saying she was too busy. I was the only customer in the store but offered to wait for a better time. Charlie still refused. Bizarre. I decided to keep looking on my own but eventually she tracked me down and told me to get out. My bad day was becoming worse. Charlie took out her phone and said she was calling the cops. I'd already called them to report the missing wallet so told her I'd be happy to talk to them. I eventually left after leaving my name and number. Thinking the best of Charlie, she was either suffering from indigestion or thought I was shop lifting. I would give 10 stars if I could! Love LOVE this place! You could spend a whole weekend and not see every little gem in this place! Three (3) FLOORS of treasures and something for everyone in every price range! Rented a cottage with some family in Iron River in October. The weather kinda sucked so this store was just about the only ray of sunshine in our otherwise gloomy weekend. If you are anywhere near this place - this needs to be on your list! Came in on Tuesday with all the girls in my family. We are all from Georgia & Alabama. Had fun looking around. 3 stories of lots and lots of cool treasures. Wow, you need to go through more than once to see everything. Give yourself plenty of time. Beautiful, historic building with many interesting pieces.
